I am waiting this out. Would like to first hear from some folks who had it done. I live in Miami. The techs here are horrendous.

I brought mine into Ft. Lauderdale location. Asked for their top tech. They weren’t in on Saturday so waiting until today. Sent me multi point inspection already with my car up in the air and did a full walk around. They’re preforming the recall fix as I type this out

Holman. Bought the car there. May as well keep it them only working on it. Rather build a relationship with them and take care of the techs so they know my car when I bring it in

As a tech at honda with an fl5 i gotta say im a little discouraged by how little faith most of you have in us. Ive been doing the eps recalls on civics for a while and its very straightforward. Take pride in my work as do all my fellow techs. We havent had a screw up on one yet. The fl5 is nuts and bolts like every other honda that we work on all day every day. The fact that so many are scared to have the rack serviced is insane!! Either you dont know much about cars or you have a horrible service department

Just did an HRV without disconnecting the steering column, dropping the subframe, or touching the tie rods. all you have to do is hang the splash shield, take the two 12's for brackets out, take 3 rack bolts out, shift rack a few inches to the passenger side, and use a triple square 12 on a wobble to get out the spring. Gravy. Hopefully this works on the other effected vehicles.
damn, if that's the case you can probably get it done in an hour

Good Sir, I apologize for our collective insolence.

Most dealers have a horrible service department. Nothing but horror stories unfortunately. Alot of carelessness, not many knowledgable techs and the techs that are knowledgeable wont waste their time on recalls and warranty work when there is high book time jobs available. I only deal with dealers for warranty and recall items. My local dealer and I have a good relationship but their service department isn't top notch either.

Didn't come here to bash dealers, I'm just surprised your surprised lol

Sounds like the exception and not the rule. Everyone knows recalls typically pay like crap and the tech is the big loser in that scenario. None of us want some tech rushing through a job on our brand new cars. So yea, no faith. And it's not in the tech's abilities. It is more the sentiment of "it's just another Honda" and the fact that it isn't your car and you really only care so much and I can assure you it's nowhere near as much as I do. Don't take it personal, but I wouldn't let the dealership change my oil. In all my dealership experiences, I have never found a quality service department.
