Opinions please - help me pick a track for a fall HPDE weekend - which would you pick?

Mid-Ohio
Road Atlanta
Barber Motorsports Park

These are all about the same distance from home, and all have at least a few events this fall with different groups. I've only watched IMSA @ Mid-Ohio, have never been to the others.
I've been to Barber and Road Atlanta and both are really enjoyable for different reasons. Road Atlanta is higher speed, large elevation changes (turns 10 and 11), and the descending esses. I've only been once, but I love the flow of Barber and I would say it's more enjoyable overall. Check out Jzilla track days, as I usually drive with them and they have events at most tracks in the southeast.

@Winpildeu Decent amount of time on track with JZilla? It's so hard finding reviews/schedules on some of these sites. Thanks for the feedback!

Both are a little squeaky. Can't say much about rotor wear yet, but the RPX supposedly causes greater wear.

I went through 5-6 RPX sets before changing rotors for the first time. Rotors still had >50% life, but the rotor surface was badly deteriorated and required more and more time to seat new pads to it. I decided to install new rotor rings from Paragon ($550 for a pair) and from the very first use (!!) the combo SR11 and new rotors felt a lot better than properly bedded in RPX pads. From now on I'm going to replace rotors more frequently - they aren't that expensive when compared to the brake pads we use.

They will. The RPX compound is abrasive in lower temperatures. It efficiently cleans the transfer layer on the rotor, so it's easier to go from RPX to OEM than, say, blue stuff to OEM. More on this here: https://www.brakes-shop.com/brakepedia/pads/uneven-pad-deposit-removal
Amazing. Thanks you for the rotor information. I'm now thinking I'll just swap to RPX the week before a track event - and back to OEM after the drive back.

~$350 for 1 day event or $550 for a weekend. 6 x 20 min sessions per day and a good group of ppl. I drive up all the way from Tampa for their events, if that says anything.

Come down to Miami!! We've got a good group of Track Enthusiasts here and FARA just started a Time Attack series. Our Cars Classify for SL3.

I commented on one of your videos earlier. I was the driver of the Boxster GTS at the one SCCA Homestead event. Unfortunately, I had an off the following event in Daytona and totalled the car. So I'm taking a step back and looking to get into a CTR or ITS soon. I'll be back afterwards! How's the car handling the summer heat in Miami? That's my biggest concern with this platform. I don't wanna do a bunch of mods just to be able to track at a moderate pace.

Sorry to hear about the total loss man, that Boxster was really nice!

My car has no mods done to the motor, and I don’t have any issues with overheating. All I’ve done really is pads, and tires. Check out my Build Thread I have more details about my overall experience with the car at the track. I’ve taken the car to about 8-9 track days now.

Also in Florida here.

I have honda log R running when running at track. and it shows the data in the best lap.
But to be honest, I feel the oil is running high and wish they come with oil cooler and actual oil sensor.

I think I dont have sprinter filter and PRL hose installed in June yet, that may be the couple psi different shown in there.

Pretty high temps. Keep an eye on them. Time to level up to S+ and S Ranks!

I'm not going to be able to make it. Our dealer group was part of the big cyber attack, and it hit us all pretty hard financially. Need a couple months to recover!

Oh gross that sucks 👎 hope it wasn't crowdstrike or part of CDK that went on last month. What a mess. I work adjacent to cyber security products so I can understand the pain.
