FL5 - SOW Streets of Willow - Spec VTEC/ Extreme Speec Track events

Hit Streets of Willow this weekend to test out some new mods on the car. The car’s rotation feels great, and I’m really happy with the progress. I got bumped into the Advanced group, which runs with no point-bys, and the pace was intense. No overheating issues so far, but the cooler temps kept the tires from reaching peak grip like they do in the summer. I kept the VSA on since it saved me a few times (four, to be exact). Lesson learned - dont get too excited on 1st and 2nd laps on 38F - 50F weather. I’ll probably disable it when the track is less crowded. Passing with no point bys sounds dicey.

I was at a HPDE yesterday and it was around 55 F and I felt like the car was just skating around the track most of the time.

I always give a point by if someone is on my tail—no ego here. My car's safety means way more than a $10 trophy. Most of the time, I wait for them to give me a point-by before making a move. If I don’t see their point by, I make sure they see me in their mirrors and only pass on the long straight. Although, about 70% of the people in the advanced group are the ones I hang out with.
