Agreed. I’m just about to swap to winter tires so I figured for this season a dealer alignment beats whatever my car has now post commuting the summer/fall season.

Yeaaaaaa....I'm gonna let this marinate for a while. Never want to be the first one to get a recall performed. Technicians that have done several will have the highest success rate and the muscle memory to get it done fast and right.

Anyone know if theyll need to drop the subframe for this? I JUST got my Rigid collars installed 😅

Either way, no plans to take it in for this anytime soon.
Iv'e seen this issue happening on Civics for quite some time already, but never on an R...

If they have to drop the subframe I'm not letting the dealer touch it until it's time for me to sell it.

Thanks for this! Are you able to share the actual PDF?
I'm trying to ascertain how complex of a job it is.

I really don't want the dealer to mess up my car. Might just leave it well alone until the problem actually manifests itself, if it ever does.

I haven’t had any steering issues either, not planning on letting the dealer mess with my car anytime soon. From what I’ve seen so far the subframe has to be lowered and the steering rack completely removed.

I’ll let them do it next year after they get used to the procedure

Now I gotta wait and find a decent dealer here to make sure they don't mess anything up :(

ahah oh yeah I am def not going to my local dealer (smaller town, had 1 experience so far and was not great). Will travel and go somewhere where for sure they have done a ton of them.

Just so I can sleep even less at night, what is necessary to get this done? I hear they have to drop the front subframe to access the steering rack? About a 2 hour thing? Then they have to do an alignment?

Yeah heard they need to drop subframe and get up in there. Might just get it done after I get my springs so I can also get a free alignment lmao. Still maybe someone in the Type R community will go get it done and post a YT video of it. Definitely don't want someone random in there.

yep, I don't either but also will get it done, not something I want to experience having my wheel "lock". This is likely not affecting most of the cars but might just well get it done, you also want to have it on the carfax if you ever need to sell it.

I might remove the camber pins before and max it out and then go get this done so they can zero out the tow lol
