I would recommend you buying the parts from the dealer you are having them installed at. Most dealers won’t install parts you don’t buy from them.

Got good news, I called and they’re waiting on one of the switches to come in. They already have the cluster and harness! Should arrive next week

Is the dealer only needed to reset the mileage counter, or do they need to do something in order for the new cluster to work?

They have to transfer the info from the old cluster to the new one and that's all you really need them to do. If you can get them to pull the old one and bolt up the new one then that's even better to not have any issues.

Like I said earlier, if you want to pull the dash apart to the point where your old cluster just needs to be unbolted and the new one bolted in then that will save you a lot of money. Regardless, you will also have to swap out the buttons and harness inside the steering wheel.

What are they transferring? Is it anything more than the mileage? If I don't care if the mileage is off do I still need the dealer?

So you want to have a car with a mileage discrepancy? I don't know what else needs to happen with them programming the cluster. Once you plug it in, if it works without having the info programmed by the dealer, you can never reprogram it just so you know.

I was just thinking of having the dealer reprogram or adjust the mileage after I install it myself, but it sounds like that wouldn't work.
Perhaps I can just pull the old one and bring the part to the dealer together with the new part and have them transfer it like that.
From your earlier post (https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threa...hat-you-need-to-get-it-done.54726/post-908110) it looks likey they're are some new settings on the touchscreen, which is probably a separate update as well.

That will not work. Cluster has to be new to be reprogrammed.
