Just noticed this thread. I purchased my 2025 Type R around the beginning of this month (November) and paid MSRP, no addons or extras. Got it in Ohio.

From my experience and searching, most dealerships in surrounding states are still charging 2k-5k markups on these cars. The markup is not as big as it use to be, but there are dealerships selling them at MSRP too!
Got mine in Ohio in Feb of 2024 for MSRP. The only thing is they made me finance it, but I paid it off 1st payment, so interest was only about $300 I wish I could have paid it off like right away but the dealer made it hard to get details about the loan until later in the month.... meanwhile they are collecting $50 a day in interest. :catfight:

Dealer also made me finance mine so they could get their "commission". I went online to Honda finance & paid it off & ended up paying < $30 interest.

Nicely done! I wish I could find a dealership that offered PPF as well.

You're better off finding a PPF shop on your own. More often than not, the dealer is going to use the lowest bidder they can find to install it and tack on as much margin as they can to what they charge you.

Finding your own shop will allow you to find one with a great installation and service history, a lower price, and allow you to select the film you want to use.

I have an opportunity to pick up a Rec 2025 CTR at MSRP. This is my preferred color and I think also the rarest? That said, would it be wise to jump on this or to wait a few more months to see what's going on with the (potential) 2026 model?

Up to you. There is zero legitimate information from Honda on the future of the FL5 for 2026 and/or beyond.

MSRP is becoming easier to get but red is still rare.

When motoring obsession was up to date, there would be roughly 600 White to like 25 Red FL5s available in the country.

Ask your local Honda Technician. Per mine, of all the current vehicles in Honda’s fleet, they all show parts for 2026 models besides the Type R in their system. (A little weird.)

Which means it’s one of 3 things:
A. Honda didn’t update the computer yet.
B. There is a refresh coming.
C. There is no 2026 FL5.

No one knows anything. Just speculation.

It's your preferred color at the best price you can find. Get it. Get it now.

I look at it this way, whatever happens with the 2026, you're likely not going to see a lower price than you have in front of you now.

If they announce 2026 isn't coming, you'll see the markups return in a big way to the remaining 2025 inventory.

If they announce 2026 is coming, it's a safe bet to assume the MSRP will be going up, especially when you consider potential tariff issues. Not to mention, you'll be waiting until October/November 2025 at the earliest before you can get one.

as someone that had been searching months for a RR at msrp, I recommend you jump on it now. It’s near impossible to find red, let alone at msrp. Again, I can speak from experience.

Video doesnt have a specification on the last year the FL5 will be built but these guys talked with the engineer that designed the car about 9.5 minutes in the video that it may be the last combustion type R engine. Next one may be EV or hybrid
