It will be loud when the valve opens (one resonator and straight pipe), and restrictive otherwise (right angle bends). Depends on if you value your hearing and how much you want the police to notice.

The system has a lot of welds, which can be prone to cracking if really titanium. I'm a retired aerospace engineer with plenty of titanium experience.

I actually think this is one of the valved exhausts that actually get quiet when the valve is closed, and loud when the valve is opened. It even sounds okay when the valve is open. It also comes in stainless steel either through AeroflowDynamics (AD) or through Alibaba if the Ti is too risky, I can't remember.

The things that prevented me from pulling the trigger on it was just lack of others buying it, it being an Alibaba exhaust, and also the amount of negative experiences people have had with AD (Reddit and other forums).

as in bad? lol
If you have to ask...you probably know the answer.

The exhaust thread is a good place to start; however, there are a host of other exhaust systems available not listed in that thread. Go for what makes sense for your budget and what you're looking for in an exhaust. One thing overlooked is how lucky we are to have so many options for this platform. There are well over 20 exhaust system to choose from at my last count and the total is climbing. Not bad for a relatively low(er) production enthusiast car.

These are all the same company, owned by the same holding company.

Several other digital storefronts issue orders through or to this particular manufacturer. I placed my order through the CEES page and communicated with the company via WhatsApp to customize it. My order will be a full titanium exhaust with a resonator and triple titanium tips. Keeping the valve. The full titanium exhaust should be $1600 with $400 freight. I wouldn't use AeroFlow's digital storefront due to the significant markup ($2400 for stainless??). You can find several reviews from folks all over the planet who have purchased and installed their exhaust, all remarking on the quality of the build, fit, and sound—Google "bimmer Alibaba exhaust" for all sorts of videos.

Alibaba/Aliexpress is a sloppy drop-ship utility intended for businesses to submit work orders to Chinese manufacturers. That said, I've completed a *ton* of orders through Ali, with reasonably consistent results. Like most things, you get what you pay for. There are obvious difficulties with refunds or shipping damage, but all my shipments have been very well-packed and delivered intact. Waiting 30-45 days for manufacture, freight, and import is a bit much, though I once had to wait more than 40 days for a generic item to clear customs... so in this situation, I layered financing into my purchase to protect myself.

That said, I'm taking the risk, and ya'll should wait for mine to arrive. I'll do a full write-up after.

Thanks for doing this for science! If you wanted a valved titanium exhaust, Boost Logic had something for the FK8 and might have one for the FL5. Was reportedly extremely loud and obnoxious for the straight unvalued version.
