That was a resonated turboback using the 27WON downpipe in that video 😁
Any chance you or anyone out there has any sound clips of the setup with OE downpipe? I think I'd like to keep that setup and do a resonated catback for a bit more tame sound profile.

Based on testing will this setup sound significantly different?

If you guys can provide a clip at some point that would certainly help my purchase decision!

Thanks for all the responses, I've been waiting for this since I visited your guys' space in Vegas and heard the first Si system. 27Won sound is unmatched based on everything I've heard.

The real question isn’t if the cel can be tuned out the real question is will the car be able to achieve emissions readiness and pass an obd 2 check? Correct me if I’m wrong but the only downpipe that can do that is the TSP one correct?
You are correct. Any emissions related CEL turned off with a tune will result in a readiness failure at state inspection. With the TSP DP, the exhaust will be clean enough to leave the O2 monitor active and not trigger a code. Maybe the same thing can be achieved with the defouler, I’m not sure. I live in Massachusetts where I have to pass state inspection, so I decided to avoid the headache and got the TSP downpipe.

I think we need a video showing the differences in sound between the full turboback system, the catback system with resonator, and the catback system without resonator. Would be nice to hear and also see db levels on each for cold starts, idle, and revving it out.

Can the valve be independently controlled?
It supports the factory valve controller from the OEM exhaust. You would need to remove and mount the actuator to the 27won exhaust. Now you could possibly find an aftermarket solution that uses a remote or some other solution.

Can the valve be independently controlled?
It cannot. It's tied to the ECU and valve position is set based off throttle position and RPMs. It's also dependent on what mode you're in just like the OE system

I think @Unity Performance can get you some insight on that exact setup. They seemed to really like that setup as far as sound goes.

For me, it's a bit too tame, but I like my exhausts to have a little more volume.

Yeah, the goal of the defouler is to not trigger the CEL in the first place leaving the monitor ready and active just like on OE systems.

@Vlad@27WON - Would you say the FL5 resonated catback exhaust with OEM downpipe is similar in sound to the FK8 or is it a completely different design?

They are completely different designs so I would not draw apples to apples comparisons.

The resonated FL5 catback would be the quietest of all the FL5/DE5 versions.

The non-resonated catback and the resonated turboback would be more similar and a level above in volume on the FL5/DE5
