A downpipe upgrade is not required for tuning but it makes more of a performance difference than any other bolt on part short of a turbocharger upgrade so we do typically recommend them strongly. You can absolutely tune without one though.
i ask because i really like the miltek non res so i know how loud a car can get after a downpipe. so yea youre right i would have to get the res version if i planned on getting a dp down the road.

One more good thing to know about the Milltek system is they sell the resonated section separately, so you can always purchase that later down the road if you decide you need it.

Can you confirm if there is any drone with Milltek non res with valved closed using the controller? No DP. All stock. Much appreciated. I can't decide between Milltek, AWE, and Remark. I want to keep the valve so the choice is MIlltek and Remark. I like Milltek sound more based on videos but Remark appears to have less drone.

I personally have not ran this setup. I’ve had customer get rid of Remark systems to replace with Milltek due to drone. Both the valve and the factory DP are going to work In your favor here.

Are you running one with the resonator? With resonator, does the exhaust still pop and bang occasionally?

i had the miltek non res and non valved. it was loud and i had the option to do the res but i just decided to take it off. from the time i had it on i did not notice any drone whatsoever so im assuming with a res and a valve you will be fine.

With resonator and with our catted downpipe. It typically only pops whenever that is enabled in Hondata, otherwise, no.

First comment I've seen anywhere that the Remark drones, was this the double or triple tip?

Double I believe. Please just remember that other modifications can highly influence how the exhaust sounds, the biggest variable probably being the downpipe.

Why did you take it off? Too loud? What do you have now? Also how bad was it on cold start? I had AWE Touring on 2022 BRZ. It was very good, no drone and good volume overall. However, cold start was obnoxiously loud. Hopefully with non res milltek the closed valve would keep it reasonable.

Thanks for the info.

Will you have any discounts come Thanksgiving? I think I will end up buying Milltek non res valved with controller. Unless someone can suggest alternatives. I want to keep the valve option and my budget is around $2,000 to $3,000.

Our sales are dictated by the manufacturers 99% of the time. However I can say that it is very likely that Milltek will authorize a Black Friday (or similar) sale for us.
