For the transmission cooler, what would that be running off of? Would it just be coolant linked up to the transmission?
No sir, the transmission cooler will run independent of the coolant. The trans cooler will just be bolted up to the back side of the radiator, and then links to the transmission. The goal is to allow the coolant to run independent of the transmission

Anyone have their rear calipers look like it has bad acne after a track day?

Im honestly at a loss for what happened. Im guessing somehow brake fluid bled through my bleeder valve and go onto the caliper?

I didn't do a deep inspection of everything until after I got back.

I haven't touched my brakes for a whole month, and the only thing I did was add pads. I took a picture just a few days prior and it doesn't look like the calipers had pimples. Not sure whats going on.

I didn't have any decreased braking performance that was significant or noticeable either.

That definitely looks like brake fluid ate the paint. Remove and inspect!

I think that’s just blistered paint from heat. What kind of pads? I’ve found some pads conduct a lot more heat to the caliper than others. That’s why I won’t use G-loc any more.

Recap from CMP Day 1:

11th Gen Honda Civic *The FL5 Track Junkie Thread* 1000019774

It's a fun track! Only did 2/3 sessions today due to a storm that rolled in but the car feels pretty good, although totally unoptimized for sure.

I managed a 1:45.2, which is definitely not where I want to be, but I'm reasonably close to the other Street FWD cars (1:44.4 - Elantra N, 1:45.0 - FK8 Type R), so we'll see how the rest of the weekend goes - the AWD cars are 1:39 - 1:41, and I don't think the car/me is ready to get there right now.

Here's my fastest lap so far. I think I can probably go flat through the kink on the back straight or at least close to it, but I checked up a bit on this lap (on the next lap I shifted to 5th and took it at 112mph min speed so way faster than this, but tires were cooked as it was late in the session so the overall lap wasn't faster).

I think the car is pushing a bit and delaying my exit (although some of that is probably just FWD things), so I stiffened the rear bar by 2 settings (out of 7 total) and we'll try that tomorrow. I plan to also try +R mode at some point now that I don't have to fight the stock shocks, although the magic rear vectoring may not do much.

Nice lap Rex. How many hot laps do you run per session at that kind of event? You are killing me in The kink. I lost my “No Fear” attitude 20 years ago…..

I dont think its the brake fluid, although thats what I was thinking. My brake fluid MC is full and the bleeder valves are both tight and rubber is in tack.

Im on Day 2 at the track and still have had 0 issues with braking

Paint damage from high heat. What CSG pad are you running and what kind of fluid? Also, are you running TC off to disable the brake vectoring?
