To save time for some folks who are searching in the DMV area, these dealerships told me today they will not sell at msrp:
  • Bill Page Honda of Falls Church VA. (4900 mark up + other fees)
  • Jim Coleman Honda of Clarksville, MD (uknown mark up)
  • Honda of Greenbelt, MD
I got a guy at fredricksburg Honda (Va) that is willing to do MSRP if you're looking for one

In the Bay Area, many dealers are asking for $10K above MSRP, so I’ve decided to explore used options for a Type R instead. I’m considering a 2023 model with 7,000 miles priced at $47,000. Does that seem too high? I’ve noticed similar prices on CarMax, so I’m wondering if this is the norm in the Bay Area.
Just buy one for MSRP out of state and have it shipped.

Be patient and keep looking, there are better deals out there. I got mine for $1500 over sticker which included accessories such as wheel locks, all season mats, etc. I did have to fly down to SoCal and drive it back north. My purchase date was in July 2024. I was thinking of buying out of state but enclosed shipping can be expensive too.

Less and less 2024 CTR are available at dealers, the car is limited produced and get in to US. So it's hard on the price.

I’ve got a lead on a SGP for MSRP in the Northeast if anyone is interested. It’s the same dealer who I’m buying mine from. The car is currently in transit from Japan with a an anticipated delivery sometime end of this month. Send me a message and I will hook you up with my sales person who has been great.

2025 already being sold. If there are any 2024 left at your dealer, make a deal!

Now that the Type R is close to full release, let’s get a list going for dealer ADM’s. Hopefully this thread dies with a flood of MSRP.

Let the fun begin….

Allegedly and subject to change:

List here thanks to obscure_worship:

I just bought a boost blue FL5 from Woodland Hills Honda. $53,900 OTD. Worked out to about 48K base price.

They just got another 2024 FL5 in black, and the other boost blue is still in the showroom.

I was browsing dealer inventory and mark ups on this site> https://www.motoringobsession.com/stock/civic-type-r

Am I reading this right that there are only 667 FL5 cars in the USA for the 2023 and 2024 model year? o_O Holy smokes!!! no wonder I haven't seen any others on the street (at least in my town).

No, it's saying that there are currently 667 FL5's on dealer lots. When I was watching this site, it seemed to take cars a week or two to drop off after they sold. The actual number available is likely less than 667.

I'm not sure how it came up for you but I selected ALL (as in the pic) and ALL years which are 2023 and 2024.

If I select on site only, I get a total of 364 (per the photo).

I don't know how accurate this site is and it doesn't seem right to me, that's why I asked. Anyone else want to chime in?

no, you’re reading it wrong.

MO was compiled by a member on civicxi onpaws and they were nice enough to basically create a site that pulled from Hondas dealer api to show availability. Sometimes the API gets wonky and doesn’t update properly but it’s been generally very helpful. There is a discord also and Onpaws provides updates when the api may have issues.

There is no way Honda only made 667 type Rs for 2 model years lol, that would make the Type R as rare as the 992 gen 911 S/T which is an almost 300k msrp 911 GT car.

Member roastduck was nice enough to provide vessel tracking for all US bound MY24 Type Rs. The final count per his vessel manifests was 4926.

see thread here: https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threads/my-2024-civic-type-r-fl5-shipments-from-japan.52770/

I believe that the MY2023s were around 3600-3800 shipped.

Thanks, yeah I was having a hard time believing those numbers. What threw me was the:
On Site
In Transit
Unknown or
All

I thought All might mean all the cars that have moved through the system. I forgot about roastduck's information, thanks for clearing that up.
