When I changed out the wheels and specifically the tires, it helped a lot.

You can look at doing dynomat or adding insulation depending on how aggressive you want to get but most of the noise comes from the PS4S.

But to be clear, unless you add insulation, acoustic glass, etc. it won't be as quiet as a luxury car or the Integra. Tires will only slightly reduce it and there will still be wind noise to deal with at speed.

If i want to keep the OEM Rims, what tired would you recommend to reduce road noise?
Thanks

It depends what you want to trade off on performance. Going to something like the continental DWS 06 performance all-season will really help, but it will also lose lots of dry grip compared to the factory tires.

Im not familiar enough with all the competitors to know which may be better. Typically Michelin PS4S are the best so that is why stepping down to a Performance all season or Ultra performance type summer would be needed.

I put a set of Michelin pilot sport all season 4s on, 265/35/19. After switching back and forth between them the all seasons are considerably quieter with about 90% of the grip. I'm a novice at best but unless you are going to the track it won't have any negative impact on street driving. Browse my post history for picture comparison.

This dude just posted how he installed aftermarket sound deadening material in his Civic:

(edit)Youtube link isn't working:
Search 717 PROJECT - Siless Sound Deadening Foam, does it help with Bass Rattle & Road Noise? "Doors & Trunk Only"

1) Change to quieter tires
2) Install sound deadening material / insulation
3) or Accept that the new Civics are loud (something that I have already done)

I get swapping out rubber for a set that's more daily driver friendly; however, I don't understand installing sound deadening material/insulation. That's taking it a little too far and then I think it's fair to say, you bought the wrong car. As we all know, your baseline for anything with these cars is directly correlated to the cars you currently drive or have driven in the past. I don't find NVH in the CTR to be too extreme at all. It's good NVH and welcomed as it gives the car character and an edge.

Also, that video doesn't work.

Yo, chill out, i love my CTR, just asked for tips to reduce the noise, thats all, if you dont have any suggestions, just leave me alone , please 🙏.
Civic's have never been quiet when it comes to interior noise, the Type R even more so with it's lack of sound deadening. Every "performance" Honda/Acura has been noisy from my experience. Adding Dynamat or something similar defeats the whole purpose of this car. Just my opinion. You do as you please since you're making payments on your car.

Road noise isn't that bad but that's just me.

Another thing is to downsize your width. 265mm wide makes alot of noise. If you are serious about reducing noise and keeping the CTR, Id go for a 245mm, pick a low noise tire AND a new 18in wheel.

I have no data to back this up but I'd estimate I have a 10-15% reduction in road noise switching to Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 in 265/35/18. It's still there but does seem to be reduced enough to notice on some of the louder roads I drive daily.

I'm not sure how I feel about the handling differences compared to the Michelin PS4S and 19" wheels though. It's definitely more vague feeling right off of center and feels squishier around corners.
