I just put an order in for God Spec Volk Racing ZE40 M-Spec wheels in Bronze. While I patiently wait, I would like to purchase all the goodies necessary for successful installation...center caps, hub centric rings, and...what this post is about...lug nuts. While I like the way open ended lug nuts look, I don't like the possibility of corrosion and contamination (for a non track car). Ultimately I landed on either Project Kics R40 Iconix or Rays Formula Nut FN-II. I have found a decent amount of info on the forum about the R40's but, can't seem to find any on the Rays offering. I am leaning towards Rays based on their cost, wear and tear would never be visible on the exterior, and it's enticing using Rays lug nuts on Rays wheels (while obviously not a necessity).

All that said, does anyone have real world experience with Rays Formula Nut FN-II? Good, bad, or the ugly...

It appears that the FN-II has been discontinued.

Another option to consider is the Rays 19Hex L33 Nut & lock set.
Thanks! I do like the direction the price heads with the 19Hex L33 option...LOL.

I wonder if the FN-II are discontinued or a special order type item? I was in contact with LMTLS Auto today and they are expecting a delivery late May / early June.

I use McGard spline drive and I’m a big fan. They are closed ended, well made, have rotating seats and aren’t stupid long.

Dropped mine off at the shop to get my 18x10 ce28's mounted, so no real world experience aside from when I looked at them in the box so far. That being said they look pretty good to me in the box at least. Ill post something in a few months and let you know.

Thanks! Guess I had my blinders on with all the JDM offerings. I have used McGard more than once on other vehicles before but, this is the first time learning of them offering a 2-piece type design. Thanks for the tip!

Can't wait to see them mounted!!! What lug nuts?...Rays FN-II?

Not to distract the point of the post but, what tires did you go with?

I just ordered a set of the McGard spline drive lug nut.....but for my F250 6.7L, as I was in need to replace a few of my lug nuts and it would be a great first time test. Interesting enough, they should also fit my FL5, as the thread is the same 14x1.5 and my F250 uses the longest length.

While I'm in the mood to blow money on lug nuts, I also ordered a set of the Rays FN-II to primarily use on my FL5. Dropped this order thru @lmtlsauto ...thanks for the support guys!!!

yeah went with the FNII's with the red caps on a blast bronze ce28 that I got from lmtls as well. Went with a 275/35/18 continental extreme contact sport 2 since it rains a good bit here in Georgia and its my daily. Ill post pics after she gets cleaned up.

And it looks like they are still for sale from Blackhawk under different part numbers and named FN-2 instead of FN-ii
