This is before customs fee

Try checking shipping cost/options couple times a day for a few days. At least for me that’s how I got the cheaper option (UPS) as @blueroadster mentioned. FWIW, UPS did email me when my items cleared customs, paid $65 for a set of wheels.

Custom fees is not consistently charged, even if it’s the same carrier. I’ve bought from BHJ a few times now and it’s not consistent.

Agree. I've never once paid custom import fees and I've spent around $10k all told.

Times are changing. A friend of mine very recently bought something expensive from Canada (~$3k item). It was held up in customs for a few days, then almost made its way to his home in California, but then got rerouted back to one of the main FedEx hubs (Memphis) for customs processing. What a mess!

HKS Intercooler Pipe Kit arrived. There was no customs fee charged I guess because the box is not large or heavy. Let me know if there are an questions about measurements or something else before I install the kit.

FYSA for those curious. Here is a PIC of the OEM intercooler port where the shape is elliptical (internal port measurements are 59.75mm height x 55.5mm width (same on both sides)):

The HKS and J's Racing Intercoolers maintain the same elliptical shape (PICs from video in first post):

As for the HKS Intercooler Piping Kit, the ports on the cast aluminum elbow connections are also elliptical on the ends connecting to the intercooler. The hot side internal port measurement was 60.00mm height x 55.75mm width. The cold side internal port measurement was slightly smaller measuring 58.35mm height x 52.5mm width:

The other sides of the cast aluminum elbow connections both have an internal circular diameter of 54.00mm:

Just want to say that I appreciate your deep dives into all the parts you’re installing. One can’t have too much info.

Thanks and NP…Just sharing information as a means to help others in their decision process.

Overall, I think the HKS Intercooler and charge pipe kit is a sweet deal. The HKS Intercooler by itself is a significant improvement over OEM. Adding the HKS charge pipe kit makes it even better by replacing OEM hoses with hard pipes.

Core design wise…I think the J’s Racing Intercooler is better than the HKS. Likely not worth the additional cost though.

After installing the HKS intercooler piping kit, I am impressed. Internal dimensions of the piping from turbo outlet to the throttle body inlet pipe are larger than stock on both the hot and cold sides.

OEM turbo outlet: 50mm ID, OD connects to a 55mm ID rubber hose connection
OEM intercooler inlet elbow (cast aluminum): 50mm ID, OD connects to a 55mm ID rubber hose connection from the turbo outlet
OEM intercooler outlet elbow (resin): 53mm ID, OD connects to a 60mm ID rubber hose connection to the throttle body inlet pipe

OEM turbo outlet: 50mm ID (HKS provides a 55mm to 60mm silicone adaptor)
HKS intercooler inlet elbow (cast aluminum): 54mm ID, OD connects to a 60mm ID silicon fitting
HKS intercooler outlet elbow (cast aluminum): 54mm ID, OD connects to a 60mm ID silicon fitting
HKS intercooler piping: Mandrel bent aluminum with a 54mm ID, OD connects to 60mm ID silicon fittings on the hot and cold sides

Considering minimum intercooler piping inlet and outlet diameters, OEM maintains a 50mm ID (1.968") on the hot side and a 53mm ID (2.086") on the cold side. HKS maintains a 54mm ID (2.126") on the hot side post turbo outlet (16.63% larger internal circular area) and the same 54mm ID (2.126") on the cold side (3.81% larger internal circular area).

When installing the HKS intercooler piping kit, everything fits like a glove however, minor trimming of the passenger's side brake duct bracket is needed to fit the larger intercooler inlet elbow (cast aluminum). Here are before and after PICs of the bracket showing the required trim area:

You can use a file or angle grinder to trim. Once trimmed, you can spray some black epoxy paint onto a paper plate and use a Q-tip to dab and apply paint without having to spray. Here is a PIC of the passenger's side brake duct bracket before removing to trim:

Same PIC after trimming, painting and reinstalling:

This PIC shows clearance after installing the HKS intercooler inlet elbow:
