I am a cheapskate, not paying $50+ for a piece of plastic. I might just glue a plastic disk onto of the existing stopper...

Since you can't have it both ways, I'd recommend you adjust it so you can clutch in comfortably as you're driving, not necessarily so you can go all the way to the floor.

Normal driving, you shouldn't really need to press it all the way down - just at stops. It's easy enough to do a small shift in your seat to do that.

Am I the only one that pushes the clutch all the way to the floor for every shift?
me too, at least for now, as I am still shifting slowly and deliberately till I build enough muscle memory (and finish breaking in the car for another 1,500 miles or so)

You should be able to go to the floor while maintaining a very slight bend in your knee, you don't want your leg straight at full extension. And don't forget about your upper body, with your back and shoulders fully rested on the seat back you should be able to place your wrists on top of the steering wheel with your elbows straight. I'm 6' 1" and I still had to pump the lower seat up considerably to get comfortable, no idea why it goes that low lol.

I'm 6'4", wear a 34L pant size, and used to constantly adjust my seat as well to give you an idea. I run my seat all the way back, 2 pumps of upward lift, and bounce my recline back and forth between more/less upright depending upon the type of driving I'm doing.

I found that the up/down adjustment made the most difference for me with overall comfort but also the type of clothing I'm wearing, believe it or not. I usually wear jeans or slacks to my office job and the seats really grab hold of those fabrics and make it uncomfortable to sit in the seat for longer periods. If I'm in shorts though, the seats are perfect. It's odd.

Yeah I had it in a near perfect position yesterday on the way home and most of it was from pumping the seat up, just felt kinda weird having it up so high. I changed it a little, but will try going back to that when I get a chance.

I agree. $20 with shipping and tax is the most I would pay for such an item. The stopper looks like it is 4 times thicker than the stock piece. I'll find something similar in the hardware section of Lowes, Home Depot, or Ace Hardware. I have a lot of experience finding odd bits and pieces in that section of the store.
