I suggest keeping the stock seats unless you're seriously tracking the Type R. If you want full control of the car, you'll need a proper seat rail. The stock seats won’t keep you planted during hard cornering, causing your body to shift and reducing your precision, which can ultimately impact your lap times. Above is my Bride Low Max carbon fiber seat.

You don't need to '' seriously '' track the car in order to max out the seats. A few touge runs is plenty sufficient. Once you're over 400hp you will see a big difference lol

I legitimately would've that that was a baby seat if it weren't for all the branding

I'm 5'11" and my weight fluctuates between 180-190 lbs. I fit in there, but it's snug, which is exactly what I need to keep me from moving under G-forces.
is it noticeable how much shorter the seat is versus OEM? from that pic it looks like several inches

Its probably shorter but that picture the oem seat has the rails under it so its making it look a lot taller

Do you have a picture of you sitting in it? You're not short, so the size difference is pretty jarring.

I'm a fat daddy now, 38 waist, and I LOVED my buddy club P1 XL seat. The Recaro SPG is also another fav of mine at a 38W and below. Lastly, the bride zeta III was also comfy. I was a 36W then.

edit:
drove 10hrs, round trip in the P1's, in a pretty rigid subaru. Definitely stiffer than R mode, while there was some discomfort, the seat was quite impressive in the overall comfort.

Here’s a picture from when it was installed in my other car. The other photos are the closest I could find of me driving it.

Spoon carbon is pushing it at a 36W, its doable but I don't know about longer road trip.
