I've had my type R for around 3 weeks now (4 next Monday), and I've gone through every possible iteration of seating positions there are.

When I first got it I was new to manuals so I sat as close to the clutch as possible (at the cost of feeling cramped) over the last few weeks I've gone through being far away to being super close and every way in-between. My only issue is that if I too far, my left knee bends in a way that causes it to crack and trap air, making it moderately uncomfortable.

Right now I have it set up to where the clutch is in the perfect position when it's fully depressed, but because I have long femurs, my legs feel like they're cramped. I can pull it back 1 level on the seat adjust and it's perfect, but then I feel I have to reach just a little too much to fully depress the clutch.

I asked the only person I know how he does it, and like everyone on other forums and Reddit, he said to adjust for the clutch, and just get used to the seating position once everything else is 90% dialed in.

Any suggestions? Anyone else with abhorrently long femurs?

Fits me perfect. Get a new seat that better fits your proportions perhaps?

I don't know if the Japanese market has any good options or if the " tariffs " are affecting the pricing on them yet.

How tall are you? I'm like 6'3" short torso, and lanky so I have long femurs. I used to go like 1 or 2 clicks forward from as far back as it goes. I after doing some track days I realized that the its too far back because I cant feel the clutch fully depressed. So I'm on like 3 clicks forward

I'm 6'2'', I think that's basically where I set it before I went into work this morning, so we'll see how it rides. I thought I had it yesterday but then this morning I felt like I could depress it just a little more lol, ruined a perfect setup 😂

Do you have any recommendations? I really like the stock seats, just more of an issue with how adjustable they are

same issue here, 6ft, long femurs, long arms.

about two months and 1,500 miles, and still trying to find the optimal position.

I reclined it a bit more yesterday, was ok then, but not this morning. go figure. so I adjusted the recline back up one notch.

I also moved it one notch back, it seems that my "optimal" is in between two notches...

but I then added two "pumps" on the up/down lever which seems to also move the seat forward a bit

yet, it seems that each time I get into the car, it just does not feel "right"

whereas my 07 FA5 fit me like a well worn glove from the first day...

bottom line, just keep adjusting, try all the adjustments, till you find the most comfortable position

btw, this morning I was thinking to myself: I finally found a good position, I wish that there was a way to memorize it. I better not let anyone drive/adjust my seat...

I find that I have to sit closer and higher in my '24 than I did in my '19 - but it also took me around 1.5k miles to break the seat in for it to even be comfortable. The FK8 seats were more comfy I think but I like the way the FL5 seats look more.

It's like every time I get in the car, even if it was perfect before, that it's suddenly not perfect lol

Move the one click back and get the rigid clutch stop from BHJ. Stops the clutch pedal about .5 cm shorter than stock which is probably the same as the click back in the seat.

How does the rigid stop work? Does it affect the pedal function at all? This seems like the best solution for me if it works right

I’m average hight at 5’10”, but I struggle constantly with the perfect seating position. I always find myself wishing for that in between slot.
Of course, I do this with any car, so I just chalk it up to moderate insanity😂

it just stops the clutch pedal at the actual engagement point vs stock which goes past it. It's literally just thicker plastic. I just also think it will help you with your specific issue as you can move your seat back and also not have to push the pedal in quite as far.

I'll try adjusting it for just a little while longer, then I'll get that rigid stop if it doesn't work lol, thank you very much
