How do you keep your type R clean?

I hate washing cars, I used to like it when I was younger. It's one of the reasons I have so little mileage on it. I thought keeping it garaged and never out in weather would keep it clean, but after every time I drive it I need to wash off the bugs. It's just as bad as my old jeeps.

I think you have to think of washing your car as part of the hobby. Just put a podcast on and zone out. I don't know if it's just me but I find it satisfying. I'm always trying to get better at it.

Also my first white - yeah it's impossible to keep clean. I got ppf on the front for rock chips. Mesh in the fender vent, and ceramic all over to make cleaning easier.

I hand wash with two bucket method. I have a lot of detailing and paint correction tools but I don't have time anymore, so the car just doesn't get washed often (I daily my FL5). I do wish I had space in my garage for a pressure washer and foam cannon (just another thing) to help with the initial grime when it gets really dirty. I get it professionally washed and ceramic re-topped once a year.

Ceramic and ppf works well enough. No chips yet, and not really swirls yet (though CW is forgiving). Hardness lasts the year, slickness lasts maybe 9 months. On my other car I apply sealant with DA polisher when I can, but it only lasts like 4-6 months, you don't get all the protection of ceramic but it's cheaper and easier to use.

Get a dedicated brush (and bucket if possible) to do wheels.

PPF or Ceramic and wash frequently, get a car cover!

White always looks clean from 10 feet. That's why I love it and hard to see swirls unless you're up close. I've always liked white cars though.

Definitely looks better from far away, it's also nice that I can finally see the details of the civic instead of a black mass of shapes.

Now if only the car didn't look terrible after it rained!
