The difficulty is also
1. the radiator fan will cycle on and off to keep temps in line.
2. The thermostat will also adjust coolant flow to stabilize temps.

The only driving situation you can really check efficacy is on track when the cooling system is fully saturated. You need the engine to be generating enough heat to push the cooling to the limit and you also need full speed air to be flowing past the car to generate the dynamic pressures you're depending on to vent the hot air.

Dumb question because I think I know the answer. Any rain protection with the TCR vents?

It's hard for me to tell if it is, but make sure that intake rain guard actually seals well to the intake weatherstripping. The front part of the hood is a low pressure zone, and the vent will actually suck away intake air that came in from the front grill. You don't want those two connected.

New intake concept. Trying to do my own version of the spoon fk8 intake cover.

There were at least 2 FL5 and 2 DE5 at NCM over the past 4 days, and none I believed complained of the car overheating on track. I know the 2 FL5s didn't have intercoolers and were tuned
Have to take into account ambient temps. I have customers that are fine in 70 degree weather. But as soon as it is high 80’s and low 90’s the stock intercooler can fry an egg and the heat control goes out the window.

I ran time attack in 95F tuned and no over heating. Yes with no intercooler the IATs spike, but never limp mode, except when I was low on fuel.

One thing I forgot to add, track layout also is a factor. Higher wind speeds provide more cooling, slower and more technical tracks sometimes don’t get enough airflow.

I’m glad you did not experience any overheating.

How many hot laps in a row are you getting in for the time attack sessions?
