Yeah that's very fishy, especially when every dealer in the Twin Cities is probably asking for over MSRP. Are you out of state? Most dealers were selling to locals only the last few months. Maybe they've loosened up since demand for cars is declining.
Yea I'll double check with a couple other salesmen tomorrow to see if everyone's stories line up. Not sure what else I'll be able to do. I thought the written and signed paper would be sufficient, perhaps not.

I am out of state, which I made clear up front. The salesman said that wasn't an issue and they facilitate out of state sales often. He even said they have their own go-to shipping company they work with.

Anyways, I don't want to hijack this thread. Great to see you here Savagegeese! I'll enjoy the FL5 vicariously through your videos when they come out. Looking forward to it.

Any technical reason for going from 20" to 19 "?
Any changes to the Dual-Axis-Strut?
2nd Gear grind issue solved?
Shifter feeling improved? (I'm asking this because in my Honda Accord CU1/Acura TSX the shifter feeling is tremendously better than in the FK8s i drove)

Have you driven the car on the street? What's the ride like in comfort? Would you pick the CTR over the GR Corolla?

+1 on knowing if the 2nd gear grind issue is resolved in the new model. Idk if anybody addressed it much lately but really curious given it seemed like something that plagued a good handful of owners including myself. Probably the vocal minority but still a known issue amongst all years. I know theres a bunch of “bandaid” solutions out there to minimize the issue but arent all a full fix.

Also, just wanted to say I’m a fan of your content.Your detailed review was one of the factors that further swayed me to get the car :) One of the best content creators out there for car reviews hands down 🙌🏻 Glad to see you in the community and looking forward to more upcoming content.

Welcome to the forum! Can't wait to see the content you share around the FL5.

I wonder as you share information with Honda, and subsequently likely receive info us plebes can't access, I wonder be curious to know if we can uncover more information for the Canadian market. It seems we are essentially getting hosed with such a small amount cars that it will be nearly impossible to obtain one if you aren't a GM's wife, brother, sister, friend etc.. or placed a deposit before the FL5 was officially announced.

Tell them your friends to the North need more than 500 cars!

I was not at F1 event, but based on what I heard from Honda staff they over drove the hell out of those cars. I did get a ride along with chief engineer. He drove a few people like a maniac, with me he drove a near perfect smooth lap. The downsize wheel was weight and cooling related.

This is the last ICE type R and yes the Japanese are happy this is made in Japan again.
I'm curious how the wheel size plays into cooling? Is it because heavier wheels take more braking to stop and this results in more heat?

He answered tranny question already….I recommend you reply directly to their post rather than just posting on the thread…better chance he’ll see it

Yes,

Jack is holding onto the 86 until next year. We will run it against Type R, GR Corolla and Elantra N. I will tell you Jack has brakes and dampers done on 86, and with old RS4 Hankooks Britt Casey (race driver) ran an a faster time than Nissan Z and almost same as Supra Auto with Potenza RE71RS. While the engine on 86 is not the best that is a fast car now and RWD.

I however can say I would not be shocked if FL5 is faster than all those cars on Cup2 or RE71RS.
Could you also compare it with the Golf R manual? A lot of people are cross shopping between the type R and the Golf R, me included

It's the wheel design itself that helps bring air into the braking system and the updated front inlet.
