Went just like I expected, the type S will always beat the type R in a straight line if its long enough. Has a bit more power and does not have a wing dragging down the car.

I wish they did the pedal dance. It would help a bunch off the line fully disabling traction control like the FL5 allows.115 mph trap speed was impressive and shows that the teggy is held back by the launch.

well to be fair the 115 trap was after the turn so launch plays less of a factor and driver skill comes into play. But still both are very good.

For what it is worth the FL5 still holds the best U-Drag time over the ITS.

These comparisons are fun, but I think the Lightning Lap will be a better measure of how closely matched these cars are. I hope C&D includes the DE5 (shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s) in their testing for 2024.
Some cars ran an R-comp on the testing C&D did for 2023. I'm keen to see how well the FL5 would perform with the Sport Cup 2 R. Perhaps you run into diminishing returns at that point, but would be interested to know nonetheless.

Without both on same tires and Traction control disabled this test is pointless. Also we know there the same car with slightly different tune. I just wish the TLX race turned out better.

Not the most impressive numbers. Think I'll save the $50k (!) and keep my tuned civic, which is probably just as much fun on the streets as these overpriced bros. Cheers!

Itās funny the way he worded it, but if one doesnāt care about a lot of the exclusive stuff the CTR / ITS have (which definitely add to their cost), I can see a tuned Si being just as fun on the streetā¦and I love seeing peopleās Si builds. Cheers!

I guess I was referring to the 1/4 mile times that they got in the 14.6-14.7 range. I would've expected 13's especially with those trap speeds, which were impressive. Even w/ the lowly Elantra N, they were able to run a 14.2. Does not compute.

Those elantra N DCT had posted high 12s stock in the quartermile when everything was
in their favor (DA, octane learning, etc)
It computes you are just too inexperienced to see it.
Look reasons above, especially # 3.
