i think when i had a replacement rack installed at 18k miles it must have had the updated parts. they did the recall and i felt zero difference (at 48k miles). still smooth as butter.

also, i had the recall done 5 days ago and it still says "recall incomplete" when i check my VIN through Honda and on the Hondalink app.
It takes a while for recall paper work to go through warranty clerk, I've seen many not closed out properly and still open for recall.

I have done so many of these recalls at work, every day lol. Only a few fl5's but a ton of crv's and civic's, hrv's etc. it does fix issue's I've seen. If you kinda hang your thumb at 9 or 3 o'clock on steering wheel with a little downward pressure the wheel will twitch, and when driving you can feel that twitch as well, like lane keep asset (lkas). Adding the grease corrects issue. Older cars do need gearbox replaced to correct issue, never saw a fk8 with issue, but other trim civic's yeah.
Thank you for this comment. I had the recall done and when I hold at 3 or 9 o clock I feel the wheel twitch and kind of stick similar to what you said. What do you think Honda would do next to fix it? Thanks again.

I would take it back and show them. All the ones Ive had that have the recall and symptoms, the grease fixes issue. I hope they did do it, you never know. Greasing it twice won't hurt a thing thou. We have not replaced a rack with this recall for a failed repair, or continuing issue. But it could need an eps gearbox replacement, should recall not repair it.

Got mine done on Tuesday as a walk-in, without a scheduled appointment. Took about an hour, and the notification cleared in about two days. No detectable change in the steering. Hopefully the last time it has to make an appearance at a dealer..

Just adding to the thread. Got mine done yesterday at my local dealer and took all of two hours (had them do an alignment as well, unrelated to the steering fix). I notice zero difference across all modes so they must have caught it before it became significant.

Happy it's at least a straightforward fix. Getting the Hondalink notification gone was my main concern
