Installed the sly brackets front tag mount. Turned out really well, and I'm happy I bought the leveler for it too. For anyone looking for a no-drill option for the tag, I highly recommend.

Looks really good 👍🏻
Do you need the license plate frame on to mount it ?
I’m still taking a gamble and running naked😆

Nope, you don't need the plate frame.

There are two different mount options from sly brackets - one with two bolts and four - and for the most stability, I chose the four bolt option. It can (and does) bolt up perfectly without a plate frame. I've run that frame on all my cars since probably 2012, so I threw it on the FL5 as well.

I can guarantee that you'll get popped for it eventually. Especially in our area of Orange County, but heres hoping you dont 🤞

Thanks I’ll run it until I do and hopefully won’t . I’ve driven by many cops the last few months and no hassles. But yeah fingers crossed 👍🏻👊🏻
It just takes one though.
Part of the reason I haven’t tinted my windows to attract less attention.

Running naked is fun unless you get caught, but this is a license plate topic.

So my suggestion is drag the plate down the road for a while to put some nice scrapes in the face of it and then velcro it out of sight right under the front of the car. When the cops pull you over, get out and look in disbelief at the front of your car, scratch your head and then look under and pulling it out saying OHHHhhh here is where it went! :what:

I'm sorry officer, it must have slipped out of place. :dunno: Then he will probably let you go if you promise to remount it with better hardware. 👍

🤣 I like it lol
That reminds me of this guy that was doing 90+ on the highway with his Porsche and then sees red flashing lights in the distance . He thinks oh shit and floors it up to 150. Then he’s like oh man I better pull over. He sits there and then the cop finally pulls up and says what the hell man I was doing a 100 and you were pulling away but you did pull over so I’ll tell you what if you give me a good reason and something I’ve never heard before I’m going to let you go.
The guys says my X left me for a highway patrol officer and I thought you were bringing her back .
😆

Put in the ITS ADS module. Only got to drive 10 mins around. Initial impression is that there is a noticeable difference in comfort and R+ mode. I’m hoping the R+ mode will be better at the track.

I wouldn’t have ordered this but since @realtorhoff was selling a BNIB one, I thought, why not.

slybrackets are pricey but worth it if you have to run front plates. We've had one on my wife's car for 4 years now with no issues - very stable and level unlike the cravenspeed one.

Yep - SoCal here too and I'm mentally prepared to pull the trigger on slybrackets for whenever it is I do get popped.
Same lol
In so cal now to but when I was in Oregon I drove around for almost 2 years with no front plate with my 22 BMW M240i and actually bought a no drill mount kit that mounted to a tie down/ tow hook . Never used it but carried it around incase I got pulled over to show him and say I was just getting ready to mount it and it just came in 😆

Installed my dashcam (Blackvue 900X Plus), removed dealer sticker, hardwired my Uniden R8.

I pulled the wheels off and cleaned them. The front lug nuts were torqued to around 140ftlb so imagine the dealer did this when they took out the shipping blocks.
