Researching intercoolers they make for other vehicles I would say yes they direct air. This video is older but I speculate that it is still relevant.

They provide information on pressure drop for all intercoolers they make. It is more efficient than the OEM intercooler. I would have a difficult time paying for an intercooler without that information.

I reached out to Wagner early in the week and asked if they would post on the forum. The person I spoke with read the post and said that he would do so. Maybe they are waiting for authorization or for someone else in the company to do this or perhaps they decided against it.
Did Wagner or any other company flow test the FL5 OEM intercooler for an apples to apples comparison to their "upgraded" offering? Comparing their intercooler to those in other vehicle offerings is not a fair comparison. Not knocking Wagner at all. They make a decent intercooler but sometimes not the most efficient for a specific vehicle application.

I'd be curious to see pressure drop, flow and efficiency ratings for their intercooler as compared to OEM. Aftermarket end tank design is also important as some companies do better than others even when incorporating internal end tank fins to balance flow across the core.

What brackets though? I figured it would be a simple swap. Could you take a pic? I’ll be attempting this Tuesday so just wanna know what to expect
There’s two identical brackets, two bolts, two nuts, and two isolators that would appear to go to the top of the intercooler where the two threaded holes are at but I cannot for the life of me figure out how they go in there and attach to anything.

You are messing with me, right?

It isn't fair to compare, but a breath later, you can compare efficiency to their other vehicle applications.

Did you watch the video or go to their website? It feels like you have not.
Have you done any other research? My intent was clear in sharing that short video.

The information they provide on their website is consistent with their other offerings. I also like information, which is why I'm following this topic.

Still waiting to get a copy of the instructions so if you wouldn’t mind sharing when you get yours unboxed, I’m hoping to get the car back together and driving to get some logs driving it to work tomorrow.

I have 2 of my guys working on a car right now. I think they’ve got the brackets figured out.

How is the charge pipe installation? Will it require intake and battery removal?
I ended up removing the entire intake box to access the cold side piping. I also removed the crash bar since I don’t have a lift to allow sliding the Wagner up from underneath. That would also require moving the under tray which I did not want to do so off came the crash bar.

This is the way my guys did it, remove the intake box and crash bar. The intercooler doesn’t wanna go up all the way otherwise.
So my guys have hit the same impasse as everyone else, they believe it’s short on hardware. The little brackets and rubber isolators, need additional hardware to connect to the crash bar, so the heat exchanger doesn’t wiggle in place.

Did you get instructions with the kit? I don’t think I did with mine.
