Hey, so the resonator seemed to make it sound kinda bad. I ended up selling the Milltek and getting Apexi. Apexi was great, but the more raw sound wasn't there that I wanted. So I sold Apexi and got remark two tip (this was prior to triple tip being out).

I do wish I had tried keeping the Milltek and using a valve controller...but with the non res version.

Other than that, I feel remark has been great meeting expectations of sound quality and not being overly loud. I do want to try the remark triple tip later...maybe. but I've got a full Mugen kit and may try the Mugen exhaust as well
You are definitely the right person to ask! Sounds like you still prefer the sound of Milltek non res after Apexi and Remark. I am also highly considering Remark but read that people say it drones more than others. I will probably try Milltek non res with valve controller. I just want to minimize drone as much as possible but still have good volume and occasional pops and bangs. I only heard pops and bangs without a tune on Milltek. Can you confirm that Milltek had them? Thanks for the info. Very helpful.

Both Milltek and remark can have them. Doesn't happen a lot. Milltek will have it more than remark.

FYI, remark is quieter than Milltek and has no drone...to me anyway.

I'm running catted RV6 downpipe also.

I'd say I prefer remark over Milltek based off my experience. Milltek was loud more often than not.

I actually bought the exhaust from 02Silver above and have played around the resonator vs non res setup.

After learning how the factory valve setup works Ive kept it in the non-res setup ever since as the overrun crackles sound the best. When driving in comfort mode it will keep the valve closed so its quieter and eliminates drone on the highway at speed.

I prefer the outside volume of the resonated pipe but it kills the aggressiveness. It can be pretty loud with the valve open but Ive learned to live with it and drive a bit more in comfort if Im not trying to be obnoxious.

Heres a sound clip from take off with the valve open without a resonator. I have stock cats too.

I have to admit, I kinda miss the three tip design lol. I've gone through so many exhausts.

Got it. Again, thanks for the info. I am in love with this car. Everything about it I love except for the fake engine noise and exhaust note. I am hard to please though because I've owned Shelby GT350 and that car had the best exhaust note from anything I've driven. My last car was 2024 Golf R which was boring but had way better exhaust note than CTR. I got rid of the Golf R for mostly terrible shifter and somewhat dull driving feel. It's incredible how much better CTR is versus the Golf given exact same price point.

Thank you for the info. Car sounds very good on that video. Have you tried the valve controller? Do you think the drone and overall volume would be measurably less with the valve controller?

You can see the factory valve settings here:
https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threa...ctive-exhaust-don’t-disable.53334/post-887033

In short the valve controller doesnt really do anything factory settings cant do. If you drive in comfort the valve will be closed all the time unless you are over 50% throttle near redline.

If you want it open you can leave it in +R and it will be fully open over 2k rpms. I dont see a need to have it open at idle.

The drone really starts around 3-4k rpm so if im on the highway going 70-80 Im always in comfort and its pretty tolerable.

Hey, so this thread has been super helpful. I'm consider an aftermarket exhaust as well, and so I wanted your take on Apexi. Was it too quiet even when compared to stock? There are so few three tip exhausts on the market, unfortunately.

Apexi was definitely louder than stock. It was really nice daily driving the Apexi as for noise. It never felt too loud

But you eventually did move on to a different exhaust, right? I wish it had three tips as I personally love the three tip look. It’s unique. But I’m willing to compromise on the tips ont he sound.

Look into boost logic titanium exhaust. 3 tips it’s light AF and sounds amazing. It's on the louder side though. I'd recommend the valve option.

Yeah I've gone through a few exhausts lol. I'm crazy. My biggest issue with Apexi was it wasn't aggressive sounding enough for me

I'm running Apexi on my mine, I didn't like the dual tip, but in person, its very nice. Looks lot better in person than in pictures. I get compliments all the time.

I have new ones in stock ready to ship!
