That kink is terrifying!
The curbing right at the track surface is gentle, but the straighter you try to make it the more of bump it is - it's not violent though thankfully. The visuals make it hard because it's blind until you get to it - there's a lot of room to track out, you just don't see that until you are on top of it, and there's not a good visual point that I noticed in the distance to focus on.

I had to look back at my catalyst data. I've only been to CMP once. Looks like the best I could do was a 1:48. That was back with the white car. Haven't attempted again since. You were flying out there!

Ah I wasn't sure if you had been there or not. They did repave at some point and I guess the older surface was a lot slower, although not sure when you were last there.

And thanks! There was definitely a high 1:42 in it but I don't think the car and me could get to Eddy - I'll probably be modifying Rex-spec for Road Atlanta.

Eddy has a LOT of mods, and many years of working on that car.

Like I'll say everytime, FWD can't hang in street class once the AWD cars are there, no matter what anyone tells me. With the restrictor, a turbo upgrade, fuel for E85, BBK, and opening the engine, with a stripped interior, maybe you get closer, but drivetrain advantage will always exist.

the hardest part is you have to choose where you want to be competitive in, SCCA, GridLife, GTA. I choose SCCA, so only so much you can do.

At least on our platform I'm not sure if the turbo swap makes sense - the 40mm restrictor is way smaller than even the factory turbo inlet, so that might do more harm than good.

E30+ would be good for 400+ whp based on what my tuner has been able to achieve, but unless I can do true flex fuel I don't want to deal with trying to get the blend just right since I'm driving the car to events.

The AWD cars are definitely faster, I just didn't want to own another Evo 8/9 or an STI lol.

I'm running Cobb, so probably not lol. I'm already making more power than Eddy though, and more than what the EN (which is actually a 6MT car surprisingly) claimed to be making, so I think there's more time available in setup optimization anyway.

FK8 turbo is a bit better as it makes power in the higher range, where the FL5 one peaks earlier

Ah ok. The Hondata setup would adjust on the fly based on ethanol content. But then you gotta get E85 at the track, not always easy.

Yep, the adjusting on the fly is what I need. I can figure out how to get the actual fuel it's just with driving back and forth to the event, and then once at the event driving to the hotel trying to always hit a specific blend can be painful (been there, done that).

Hondata is really the superior way to go
It can definitely do more things (at least until the EPA finds out about them), although the unlock process is worse/more expensive and the interface is a lot clunkier (having used it on my s2k).

Allegedly Cobb is working on flex fuel but I guess that's been a dream for awhile.

Here is my best lap from the weekend. After doing some data review I think I just need to trail brake more to get some rotation in the slow corners. Seems to be where I'm losing most of my time. The car got loose going through T8 on one of the opening laps so I was a little hesitant to throw it in too hard but I think once the rear tires got some heat in them I could have benefited from being a little more aggressive on turn in.

If you decide to run SCCA tuner, you can not even have the sensor
