Apply Ospho to the surface rust. It converts iron oxide to iron phosphate. You simply apply and let it work its magic. Converted rust changes to a black color.

Is there a way to paint it the same red as the calipers? will it withstand the heat of braking work?

That rust isn't aesthetically pleasing.
Certainly...What I would recommend is:
  1. Clean the calipers with non-chlorinated brake cleaner.
  2. Once dry, brush Ospho onto the components where rust has formed or can form. Ideally wait 24 hours for the Ospho to dry and convert any iron oxide to iron phosphate.
  3. Using a small brush, paint the calipers using Testors Gloss Red #1103 paint. That color matches the red color used on Brembo calipers. The paint dries rather quickly to the touch and additional layers can be applied as needed. Don't worry about any brush stroke marks as they will disappear as the paint dries.
  4. Once all painting is complete, let everything dry overnight without driving the car anywhere. This allows time for the middle layer of the paint to dry.
  5. The next day, drive the car without being hard on the brakes for a day or so. What this does is gently bakes the lowest layer of the paint into the metal surface to form a bond. It creates a unique smell that goes away once all of the layers of paint have cured.

Testors paint is enamel based. Once it has cured, it can handle the heat generated from the calipers with no problem or discoloration.

The paint is very effective and can be applied without having to remove the caliper from the car.

Fantástic

Thank you for your time

I use Ospho on bare steel or iron exposed to the outdoors. It ties up free ions, reducing rust. It lightly etches the surface, enhancing paint adhesion.

I hear phosphoric acid in Coca-Cola does the same thing, but Ospho doesn't leave a sticky film.

you could paint it, I have used the G2 paint and that stuff is amazing, goes on with a paint brush so you don't have to remove hardly anything, its pretty damn durable I was impressed when I used it on my other car. However the red likely will not match the caliper red perfectly. But you could paint it black or silver or whatever to get rid of the rust.

Great. Thanks man

Had the same issue with my 10th gen 2.0t accord touring. But the wheel design hide it.
