Hello, I have a civic sport 2024 and I’m looking to make this upgrade. However, I have a 20a fuse already in the spot where the instructions state to add a 15a fuse. Will the mirror work or do I need to add the fuse elsewhere?. Thanks in advance. I’m trying to make sure it will work before purchasing.

I was confused a bit by this since my car also had the B18 fuse installed.

short answer: if the B18 fuse is already installed, you're all set, no need to install another fuse as long as you plug the harness into the connector on the fuse box as shown in the install instructions.

long answer: the B18 fuse is for the B+ circuit (always on battery power), which is used to power the homelink unit. the auto dimming mirror itself is powered by the IG1 circuit, which goes through the B11 fuse. IG1 is used by many other things, so you will always have B11 populated. for some reason, some vehicles don't come with B18 populated and some do, so the OEM wiring harness comes with a 15A fuse and the instructions say to put it in B18 if there isn't already a fuse installed because without it the homelink unit won't work. also, the harness itself has a 2A fuse in-line with each circuit for extra protection.

Thank you! I really appreciate your help.

Got the mirror installed over the weekend along with running the wiring for the front/rear dash cams. The frameless mirror looks so much better than the cheapo factory unit and I'm so glad to have homelink back. The install is not bad at all. Even pulling the a-pillar and dealing with that one clip is not too bad. I used a trim tool to help push the clip out of the slot in the trim (easier than trying to solely use my fingers) and then a smaller trim tool to push in each side of the clip to remove in from the body so as not to scratch the paint.

This is more of a rant.....but bought this mirror and kit (per part numbers listed here in this thread) install was easy and happy with results. BUT, there's a reason why it lists Accord and CRV and not Civic.... the Civic Touring model comes with Homelink mirror part #76400-T20-A11 , while framed, is the exact same mirror/electronics as the Accord/CRV, but the arm/angle is slightly different. The Accord/CRV mirror sits a bit higher in the Civic (as a shorter person, I can tell the difference as the mirror has to be aimed a tiny bit down to get full view, but I loose a tiny bit of upwards visibility that I otherwise didnt counter with the OEM mirror). I would have bought the Civic mirror instead, but unfortunately the Civic Homelink plug is way different than the plug that's on the actual Accord/CRV wiring kit which is why the Accord/CRV mirror and wiring kit combo is best option for us. Honda does not sell a wiring kit geared to Civic models.

I also know this from experience, last year I owned an Integra Type S and added homelink from the Civic Touring model. The Type S already came with auto dimming mirror so the connector was already there (and it was the same connector on the Civics, you just needed to join the homelink power wire to the auto dim power wire in the mirror itself. Auto dim only works with car on, this was also great because when the car was off the Homelink had no power, so it was safe to leave car outside without worrying someone breaking car window and opening garage).

I actually drove a 2023 civic touring before I traded it for my FL5 and I didn't notice any difference in the mirror angle in my 2023 vs the accord mirror in my FL5, albeit I'm 6'3" and my head is pretty high up in both vehicles. I'd be interested if anybody has pictures comparing the two.

When I was researching retrofitting the mirror the first thing I looked into was buying the mirror from the 2023/2024 touring and matching harness by looking up the part numbers on DreamShop, but then I found this thread and went for the accord parts because enough people had confirmed that they were literally plug and play and the install instructions were the same.

Crazy part is the Accord Frameless homelink mirror is way cheaper than the Civics Framed Homelink mirror.

I attached a picture when I had the Type S, but unfortunately you cannot tell the difference based on the pictures :(

Either case the Accord solution is simple and works perfectly well for me.

Top image with Civic frame mirror is from my old Type S
Bottom image with Accord frameless is from my Type R

**Looking at the picture, I also just now realize Type R does not have Off/Door/On map light switch like the Type S, no wonder it looked darker when opening doors haha ..I never really questioned it.

Completed my install a couple weeks ago. Thanks OP for the instructions and parts #!

Hardwired radar detector to fuse #45 with a fuse tap. that kicked my @$$ until i found a post on reddit. The cig lighter is not the choice I found out repeatedly.

Radar Mount, while not the prettiest, it does blend in with everything else. This same one has worked in 4 different manufacturers, so I'm a believer. https://amzn.to/3ZnXnx6

I wired in a Thinkware external battery to always keep the dash cam running, and placed it under the driver seat. used the power from the mirror harness https://amzn.to/4fFxQoG

And used a Blackvue https://amzn.to/3VtEqGX don't have the LTE module like this one, but probably will.

The only con is that I think this mirror vibrates a touch more in parking with the RMM than the OEM cheapie mirror

Anyone have tips on mounting the actual mirror? Every time I think I’ve mounted it correctly it doesn’t seem to be super snug and just a light tug and the mirror comes off.

It just twists in, just make sure you have it flush and all the pieces turn into the bracket

yea not sure what I’m doing wrong. I can reseat the og mirror correctly and it’s on there nice and tight but the home link mirror just won’t seat correctly. Looks like the mounts are slightly different. Home link mirror has a metal tab that protrudes from the base, maybe that’s what’s preventing it from seating correctly

Which mirror did you go with?

Same one I used. Just make sure you line it up at like 45 degrees in the open tabs, and turn it clockwise firmly.
Spent the last few hours trying to get this mirror on, and it has to be a defective unit because I can get the original mirror on with a secure fit, but this new mirror will lock in but unlatch if I adjust the viewing angle of the mirror. The clips might just be defective… probably won’t go to the extent of ordering another one so this mod is going to be a pass for me.
