Spent the last few hours trying to get this mirror on, and it has to be a defective unit because I can get the original mirror on with a secure fit, but this new mirror will lock in but unlatch if I adjust the viewing angle of the mirror. The clips might just be defective… probably won’t go to the extent of ordering another one so this mod is going to be a pass for me.
sooooooo...about that....

I went to rewire my radar detector and well as i popped off the plastic cover, the mirror came down. Same thing as you were describing. After a few tries, i realized as said by someone else, it's how it's going to be. I put it back together and still have my radar hanging from it and it hasn't come down. it does vibrate more than OEM, but looks once the plastic cover is in place, it'll be fine.

sorry to hear that. I tried driving around with just the mirror without all the harnesses installed, and the vibration in the mirror (especially with the new exhaust) is too much for my liking. I'm planning on cutting off the baseplate of the civic mirror, grinding down the accord baseplate, and attaching the two together. I think i'll use epoxy loctite, but I have no clue if it'll work. I'm sure some people might want to see how it turns out, so i'll post pics once it's all said and done.

Just removed the base off the civic mirror. Not the cleanest job but plan on sanding it down so it’s nice and flat

im still blown away that my 50k 2025 can not open my garage door out of the gate. I already dealt with the truama with my '24 SI. At least I have a mod I can do without super high cost that will be used everyday.

Glad to have completed this project as my first mod - thanks to the OP for sharing all the info.
I lucked out and found a take-off 2025 CRV Hybrid auto dimming ONLY mirror (no Homelink) on eBay for $50 which is fine because I do not have a garage.
It fit perfectly minus a tab on this CRV mirror (that I easily snapped off) but once I did that and rotated it in , it fit. The harness linked earlier in the thread worked perfectly And now its nice to not be blinded at night ;)

I did this project last weekend using the part numbers posted on my 2025 FL5. Not sure what all the concern is about with the mirror pedestal. No issues with mine, clipped in perfectly. Very solid and no rattles. I'm a happy camper!

Does the mirror fit perfectly or is there play/vibrations like others have reported? I’m hesitant because of this.

Just take note of how you get the old one off. They twist on exactly the same so there should be no issues. It took me a few minutes to get mine at the correct angle to click in the first time, but it’s been fine.

I personally feel the mirror fits perfectly and am very happy with the fitment. I do notice very slight vibrations around 4k rpm when it's below freezing outside, but I don't think that has anything to do with the mirror fitment itself.

Any tips for new people attempting to remove the plastics and A pillar? I'm trying to avoid marring up my headliner, dash, or other plastics.

Is everything just clips? Is the visor removal required as the instructions say?

Visor removal not required at all. Hardest part is removing the plastic shroud around the mirror. Be patient and gentle.

It is interesting it does seem to vary a little bit. It may be different perceptions of "perfect" but what I noticed is the stock mirror came off with a notable detent, the replacement didn't "click" with that same feeling, so I questioned it as well. Mine hasn't vibrated or came loose. Maybe the shroud keeps it in place, but it has not shown any signs of coming off.

Did you notice the detent with the stock mirror and lack of in the replacement? My new mirror went on smoothly but didn't have that ensuring detent.

Get a set of plastic trim tools. It's like $10-15 and will serve you well in many interior mods or repairs. I removed the side of the dash, A-pillar trim, and mirror shroud and the trim above it. You can tuck the cable under the headliner - no need to remove visor or headliner. A-pillar trim should be removed so you can secure the cable behind the airbag. You will need to use the replacement safety clip. It may look reusable but it is not.

Thanks. I pass since it vibrates and the one on there now doesn’t. Vibrating mirrors is something that just bugs me for some reason.
