Since it is unlikely a test drive is in my future - too few will be available, and even less will be available for test drives other than for media, I look forward to some of my favorite channels - Savage Geese, Throttle House, Flying Gato (especially considering Elias owns an FK8) , etc. doing a thorough review -and especially a back to back vs. the FK8.

Can’t wait for Flying Gato to review it. He’s already planning on getting the new R to start racing and it will be so fun to watch and how it compares to the FK8.

Any word on curb weight yet? - I must confess that I did not read the entire thread.

To me, curb weight matters more than having 325 or even 335 hp.

I can't find my source right now but today I read that it should only be about 30lbs heavier than the heaviest FK8.

I dont like the fact that they changed the final drive to make it taller. The power gain wont offset that ratio change so i am a little worried the acceleration wont feel much different. On another note, my 2019 was white and i dont want white again. Not sure though which color i like best. Any other previous white owners that want a different color?

You're right. The 2021 FK8 with all the nannies and upgrades weights 3121 lbs. The Japanese FL5 spec sheet listed the curb weight at 1430 kg (3153 lbs). That’s about 32 lbs heavier. Not bad considering the FL5 is also longer and wider and better equipped.
