All cars are just cars. The beaten to death statement, that’s it’s just a Civic means less than nothing. I guarantee you, I can list you a handful of cars, that at the time, we’re “just that car” and yet people still love them, and pay more than they are worth, to own them.
Like I said, each to their own. I just don’t see the Type R being worth twice as much as an Si is all.

And to think... this conversation is occurring in the thread where we learned what the power figures are. :D :p

Agreed, I'd say it's only worth 1.575x a Civic Si based on the HP 😉
Which is $55,125.00. That’s about as high as I’d pay. My guess is that it’s going to be priced as much as the Golf R here in Canada which is $52,000.00 loaded up. So that slides right in there with my $2000-$3000 markup I could stomach. For reference a Si is $35,000.00 cnd.

Once you start talking 60k plus your getting into this territory…

On Sept 15th he’s going to tell you they will have more info on Oct 20th, then on Oct 20th they’ll have more info Nov 15th.
I don’t think you can understand what it’s taking me not to call my dealership. I’m waiting until they announce the price then I’m calling. At that point if they still don’t know what’s up, I give up.

It’s never ending. My guys in sales told me they’ve been getting 10-15 calls a day about the ctr

That’s exactly why I don’t want to call. I know I’m first on the list unless someone screws me so I’m trying to show that I’m a grown ass adult and have some resemblance of patients…😂

wow...toyota pricing revealed on the gr corolla

$36,995 for core
$43,995 for circuit
$50,995 for morizo

$50k for a corolla is pure madness, don't even care that it's one of 200 lol
no one will be getting a Morizo for $50k. Think $60k.

The Circuit is going to be a hard sell IMO, unless AWD is a must-have for someone. The Type R offers more power, is lighter, significantly roomier, and with an interior that can pass for both modern and cool.

The GR Corolla infotainment screen looks prehistoric. Absolutely atrocious dash layout. Everything else I actually like about the GR Corolla, including the engine and exterior looks.
Are we shopping CUVs or performance cars? The excitement over the GRC dwarfs the Type R. It’s not just AWD it’s front and rear mechanical diffs with optional rear bias. Reviews are likely to say it’s the more fun, more involving drive.

it’s great actually, that the Type R finally has real competition now that Subaru is focused on picking lint from its navel and the Golf R is chasing BMW prices. It should make both GRC and Type R easier to get.
