Need advice for shift boots, collars, and knobs

Hi everyone,

I purchased the red and black OEM type R knob, an Overland Designs red shift boot, and an Acuity shift boot collar.
Unfortunately, I read on this forum and from Overland Designs that the Acuity collar is too small, and they recommended I stick to the original collar.

I want to stick with the OEM red and black Type R knob and the Overland red shift boot, but would love to swap out the collar because I marred mine trying to remove the original knob. Any advice on a more compatible collar?

Ok I figured it out: use two zip ties to attach the Acuity collar to the Overland Designs shift boot. Love the final result, and now I have easy access to the nut for easy swapping of the shift knob.

I know this is old. But doesn’t acuity say in their instructions to use the included zip ties to secure the boot to the collar anyways? I don’t understand the issue you had.

The included zip ties don't provide enough grip on the Acuity collar. I had to use two beefier zip ties I had lying around. It's apparently enough of an issue that Overland Designs are familiar with it.

Thanks man. And it’s still holding up to today? I’m gonna get the poco low knob, the collar and overland boot. I’ll just grab some bigger ties from work.
