MY 2024 Civic Type R FL5 Shipments from Japan

0634 was on the Aquarius Leader and landed at port on 12/9. Loaded onto BNSF railcar #CTTX693169 on 12/15 bound for MA. I'm unable to see what happens after a unit leaves port. All Google produced was an archived photo of the railcar in case you're curious what your Type R has made its journey in. It could still be in transit, stopped at another city along the way, or sitting at the rail yard waiting for truck transport to dealer. I would assume unit should arrive fairly soon.

Have any information on 1294, placed a deposit at my local dealer for the car.

1294 is on the Iris Ace arriving at the port in 2 days (1/5/2024). Allocated to Tyler, TX. Not yet assigned to a railcar #. Not sure how long it will sit at the port before railing to the dealer.

1033 was actually on the Green Lake vessel that arrived at port 12/27/2023 and still processing before releasing to rail. No railcar # assigned yet. Allocated to State College, PA.

Feel free to shoot me a private message in about a week to remind me to check if it gets a railcar #.

Just picked up no. 22 in Cinci. Arrived at dealership on 12/27 which seems like a long transport based on the vessel arrival date.

I think the first boat of 2024s sat unusually long at the port - avg ~24 days - before being picked up by a carrier for transport to dealers. Not sure if it was a directive from some higher power to hold it at port until a certain release date for the first batch or if the port took longer to prep and process a new model year or some other reasons.

The subsequent shipments were held at port for much shorter - avg < ~7 days. There are exceptions of course. For example, some units are held back because there aren't enough to fill a railcar container. So they wait for the next boat of units to fill the spots before transporting to a region. Delays are also possible on the latter leg of the journey by rail/truck to dealers - this part I have no insight to.

Small world! 1096 is in the same rail container as 1033. (This container holds ~12 cars.) 1096 arrived at port on Green Lake vessel 12/27/2023 and departed port 1/4/2024 11AM PT on BNSF railcar # ETTX701465.
