keep me posted. I understand the waiting game for spoon.

I don’t understand telling someone something is about to arrive and ship a month and a half ago and then ignoring all attempts just to simply know what happened to aforementioned claim
Totally understand and thats why I will always stay transparent with my customers about ETA. What does it say when you log into your account? does it still say "Awaiting Product"? mine does. I know buisnesses are busy and especially trying to figure out the tarrifs I would give them a direct call but first check your account see if it says complete.

This is why I buy from Japan directly. Lower cost and better customer support.
Depends on value in my experience.

If high value/fragile goods, when stuff arrives damaged, never arrives, or is wrong parts then getting screwed/scammed/ghosted by overseas grey market exporters sucks is a real risk and a gamble.

Decades of sob stories everywhere.

If its something I'd consider expensive, then its best to buy from the proper channels.

Maybe Im just lucky then. Ive bought all of my Spoon parts through one of the major retailers that sell to the US from Japan. Ive never had a single problem including large carbon parts like the hood, lip and spoiler for my EG. They also update me proactively when parts go on backorder and they become available.

Even with upgraded shipping costs, it is still cheaper than Spoon USA.

The only valid argument is that I would agree on is that they are in the US and should provide us with better customer support. But as you can see from this existence of this thread, that isnt the case. The truth is SpoonUSA (GoTuning) just price gouges the American Market.

+1. I don't understand how GoTuning is still a going concern in 2025. In the 90s and early 2000s you didn't really have a choice but to buy from these outfits that purchase direct from Japan and slap a 50+% tax on products. There are so many options now there's little to no value buying JDM parts from a stateside vendor.

I've also purchased high dollar and/or fragile items from importers with no issues. All products were packed very well and communication was good. While I agree you may have more work to do buying from Japan if a product doesn't arrive or shows up damaged, the cost savings and better customer service more than makes up for it.

Simple best describes exactly what I mistakenly thought when ordering from gotuning. Maybe this still applies to some brands, outlets and items, but go tuning has let me down big time by ignoring simple emails for months at this point. Never again.

SBX- yes it’s still awaiting product.

midori - me too; I’ve ordered and received high value items from Japan consistently.

Superman- I just assumed that middleman tax meant customer service but in this case it means “dgaf” service

I wonder if Spoon Japan realizes this is the “business” running “Spoon USA”

One thing to keep in mind is if these tariffs stick around you'll be paying the 24% tariff to customs or the shipping company to get parts from your favorite JDM exporter. I have no doubt Spoon USA will raise their prices accordingly but something to be aware of for now.

They don't care. This is the issue with all these drop ship middle men. Your literally just a order that comes across the screen.
I've had issue getting parts form places in the states. Definitely not messing with anyone not even in my hemisphere lol

This was the one I was referring to. It hasn't gone into effect yet for automotive parts. I've been following closely because I've been wanting to buy wheels that are out of stock everywhere. New stock is not arriving for another 2-3 months...

Tariffs might be the only reason to keep the order as is at this point.

Send then another polite ping a day or two ago and crickets.
