Iāll double check those areas mentioned and torque accordingly. Yeah I didnāt remove axle nut as well.Squeaking springs could be a multitude of things, Iād check these:
1) Ensure all components in suspension are torqued to spec
2) Ensure spring is seated properly in the perch (may need to rotate)
3) Ensure the insulator isnāt making contact with something it shouldnāt be
4) Just for fun, make sure your axle seal isnāt loose and leaking (happens often when people install springs on this platform and didnāt remove the axle nut)
I cut the front but didnāt bother to cut the rear. If thereās a way to access the rear without having to pull off the strut, I may cut it the next time I pull off the rear wheels. Is there any rear bump stops that need to be cut? or its only the front bump stops that need to be cut?
Purchased the springs last month. Label shows 2023+Hi mate when did you buy the swift springs? Do you remember if they had the 2022+ or 2023+ label on them?

These springs definitely give the fl5 a fresh new look and driving experience. Thanks mate. I have the same ones about to fit. I have a RR too and really like your stance did you sort the noise out?
Out of curiosity, how does one check the axle seal? What would you look for, and/or how would you go about?Squeaking springs could be a multitude of things, Iād check these:

Thank you! That's why I am so torn about lowering mine. Have heard the Swift springs look the best, but hurt the ride quality. I'm leaning towards H&R or Eibach for that reason. Maybe not as low, but softer spring rates should help. They were installed correctly. I tend to leave the car in comfort suspension as I find that to be the best for SoCal backroads.
The best way to put it is that I found the stock suspension to be one of the best systems that balanced handling and compliance over bumpy backroads. Not quite as sophisticated as mag ride on my C8 vette but damn good. The car is now stiffer and that seems to have hurt some of that bumpy backroad capability. Just my opinion, the springs are not as optimized for the factory suspension as some feel. I do prefer the stock ride over these springs but I'm conflicted bc I do prefer the look of a lowered car. Perhaps I should have just done coilovers...
I have not tracked this car but I suspect these springs would be fantastic in a track setting.
I called Swift and they said the bump stops do not need to be cut, so I left them as isIs there any rear bump stops that need to be cut? or its only the front bump stops that need to be cut?
Can you clarify your experience? In what way does it ride better? More comfortable? More compliant? My experience with springs, other platforms admittedly, is that it feels stiffer and less compliant. It wasn't until I went to a high quality coilover that I was able to improve the ride, keep the compliance, and get the drop that I wanted.I cut my bump stops like I did on the FK8 and the car rides perfectly fine. I personally think it rides better than the stock springs![]()
Crazy they say that when Spoon requires it and they do not drop as low as the swifts..I called Swift and they said the bump stops do not need to be cut, so I left them as is
eibach pro-kit also requires cuttingCrazy they say that when Spoon requires it and they do not drop as low as the swifts..
