The 37820-66V-A03 is the exact part number for 2023-2024 model year cars. However, this has become harder to find as the part has been superseded. I believe it is up to 37820-66V-A06 now.

If you're buying an ECU as a donor for an ECU clone, the Type S ECU (part 37820-6PV-A03) is compatible, cheaper than the FL5 ECU and is easier to find.

I do have an 37820-66V-A03 ECU (long story) that I'd be willing to sell if you decide to go the FL5 ECU route. Once again, the Type S ECU is sufficient as a donor for a clone.

personally i bought the type s ecu. It is so much cheaper, im pretty sure it was like $293, cloned and jailbroken. I had it in the car for 3 months, just finally got the hondata flash pro, using their ots 93 map

Question if you clone the ECU that’s doesn’t will affect the odometer of the car? How effective or efficient this is to do over just jailbreak your OEM ecu?

mileage didnt change, and i have swapped them 2x already. i got nervous when i put the jailbreak in and every light in the car came on lol. i let it run, drove around the block and nothing. swapped them around, same thing. I dont know a magic number, but they correct somewhere between 5-10 miles driven.

efficient, is no. once it is in, you just leave it. I could only afford the type S ecu and the jailbreak in december, i was finally able to swing the flashpro 3 weeks ago. I did it for my own peace of mind and only because the type s ecu was $287, the type r is I remember correctly was almost 1k. if i did not have the option, I would have not done it because of the cost.

the dealer knows if it is jailbroken, and i have zero intention of swapping it for an oil change, so im just hoping something major doesnt go wrong and i am forced to see if would even work by putting the oem back in before it would be warranty work. I have seen conflicting info if it would even work without them knowing regardless.

Im 45 and dont drive like I did 20 years ago, also i am not doing anything that would put the motor on the edge of exploding on me. I had hondata In 2004 with my rsx type s, back before the obd port devices, ran 145k miles over 11 years never a single issue. Cobb on my wrx with bolt ons, same thing for less time. So im confident that having a map for 93 octane wont damage anything. my gas mileage went from 21ish to 25ish and i have not had a chance for highway mileage yet to be accurate, but no hondata i was getting 30/31 on the highway.

It is all a chance for anything to happen, and the $300 was low enough that i said fuck it and bought one. I plan on keeping the car forever and I dont drive much so.

If it fits your budget, then fuck it why not, but imo its not needed. Also the dynos on hondatas site are at the hub so dont expect crazy huge changes, HP isnt enough to notice i think i read 12-14 to the wheels, the torque is noticable. also if you run hondata ots maps, they have the Type s exhaust pops as an option when you set it up, as well as stage 1 and 2. i started at stage 1 it sounds damn decent imo without being oveeboard, no need to pay extra when you jailbreak it. I had my jailbroke thru two step, and i will most likely buy their stage 1 map next time it is on sale.

sorry for the length, just wanted to give a full opinon.

What's your exhaust setup with the Stage 1 pops?

None. I have a prl hvi and that is all. The type S has it from factory, so it is an optIon when you install the hondata map. two step performance also does it for an extra fee.

Good to know, thanks.

I figured the Stage 1 pops would be inaudible with the stock exhaust but I'll give all the options a shot.

I have heard them on review videos of the type s, like standard car review so even that level was audible to me from a video made inside the car. I just started at stage 1 because why not, and they are def heard. You are not going to get the attention of every person within a half mile of you , and they are loud enough for me that i wont let them happen at night once i am inside my neighborhood, but easily changed its just 5 mins to chnage the option and upload the new map options. if you are looking for straight pipe style pops, you wont be happy with it. I had my neighbor drive the car so i could hear from outside and it was audible from a few blocks away still from the echo off the houses.

Ok it’s just that I saw a couple people here saying the clone ECU in the past thing was curious I gone to do the jailbreak on June on mine but I will gone to do a custom tune. I’m almost 40 I also never will sell the car if is on me I drive conservative but sometimes hit the gas curiously today I got pulled over 😥 77 on a 65 on my defense I was passing someone 😂 and the state trooper got me. But otherwise this is my daily too it has 16k on 8 months and I love it. But thanks for the clarification I will not do that but it’s good to have that information.

it will happen to me at some point, baltimore is basically a highway with side streets haha. i live off rt 40 the national highway, its the only way to leave my house.

anyway, its 55mph and the few mile stretch between counties, a normal speed is 75, ill catch it at night or even during the day with no one, i easily cruise at 85 without realizing it in this car. On a major highway forget about it, i use less gas at about 83mph than any other speed if i stay steady, so yeah i have been counting my days.

45, married, have not had a ticket in 15 years now, my time is coming. Defensive driving for barely over? That is absurd, or is it some online bullshit class that really is just there to generate mpney?

Yeah an online class to get the ticket dismissed but I was probably 1/2 mile from the 75 mph sign but apparently was my day today also the boost blue doesn’t help 😂. Married too and drive towards the I 35 every day 2 hrs is my daily commute was like 6 years if I remember since my last spending ticket, but such is life.
