Canadian dealer asked what colour Type R I want

They weren't taking deposits or anything, he said he'd put me on the list and fed me the "I'd be the first to know" line. Dude didn't know the car was on sale Friday. I have deposit at another dealer so I'm not sweating yet.

It's going to be a blood bath, I'm pretty sure dealers already know who they will sell to, whether it's friends, family, first inline or those generating max $$.

I had 3 deposits out 2 are dead now. 1 left to go which I think is a slim chance either way.

Atleast I have written confirmation for #1 @ MSRP for a Type S (if it ever comes out).

Shrug, don't stress man, if it happens it happens if not don't lose sleep over it. 99% of the situation is out of our control.

My dealer near Calgary called me to confirm I agree to purchasing the car with Xpel and the $595 doc fee. Sold at MSRP. Still no ETA but hopefully I get one from the 1st batch. I'm 1st on the list at my dealer

Sounds legit. Just got home from signing all the paperwork, I was no.2 on list. Mid sized Ontario dealer and they were allocated 3 cars over the 3 years, with potential for perhaps an additional few cars but no guarantees. For reference they sold and delivered 5 of the last model year CTR and were expecting more but this is all they got as of now.

First car arrives in next 3 months with second (mine) later summer / early fall for potential delivery.

Paid MSRP plus freight and a nominal PDI.

At this rate, I don't think I'm going to be able to find an FL5. I guess my best bet is to wait for a used FL5 to show up but I'm terrified of what the price will be....

I popped into a dealer today for another car and decided to ask about the CTR for info.

I got quoted $62,700 as they are adding quite a few add-ons. I didn't get all the detailed options but some included 3M, rust-proofing, and weather package.

Hope the info helps those looking to make a decision.

Well I just got my deposit back from Sisley Honda today. As I went in to ask them whats going on with the order. They tell me they know Honda released the info. But they are doing a lottery and will provide the link when they have more info. I was like…. Interesting you mean the strip link that other dealers are already handing out. They didn't say anything. They couldn't tell me what number I was. So pretty much it was a pipe dream lol. Well good luck guys.
I guess at least I have my backup plan with the GRC as I know I am number 4 at the dealer as I saw where I was on their ordering system.

yeah i was told something similar minus the stripe haven't heard of that one they also never mention lottery system, they said it's not official but Honda may publish a portal to order it, i think it's bs that's just to give false hope, took my deposit back and told me when they can put orders through they gonna be told how many allocations that are getting and they will go down the list, i am still on the list even with the refunded deposit but#4

i agree there def something fishy most dealers are doing, why would some know how much they are getting while others don't have any idea and how come most have their #1 sold who are these ppl we are not seeing them on here so just be family or friends of sales reps, interesting that Acura promised something on a rumoured car

my back up was type s as well but i suspect it's going to be detuned k20c or just not as much power or track focused as the type r, the tlx didn't live up to the hype...btw my brother in law is a technician at acura i ll keep you posted if i hear anything

funny i got one on a grc but they can't even tell me if there is a list and where i am on it, like you said they told me they can't even put orders through but with toyota i feel it's a bit more consistent

wasn't aware any dealer was doing bill of sale signing yet, not to mention your#2, i will ask mine if that's possible so far they said it's marked as sold but will do paper work once they get delivery details and exact timelines
