I wonder if you can contact Black Haw Japan and ask what the wait times are for the wheels or do they have it in stock.

Here's one of my orders from BHJ for Spoon wheels and a few other items last year.
I think the import tax was $150ish. All of these items plus shipping were still cheaper than buying the wheels from SpoonUSA.

Damn, even that lowering springs is almost half the price from Spoon USA or other dealers. Did you wait long to get your order?

Depends on your expectations. I ordered the items late June and received them late October. Granted the original time for delivery was expected in December/January. They typically won't ship the order until all the items are ready.

So in my case they had all of the items ready to go within 30 days except for the wheels.

That timeline is actually not bad.

I’m potentially looking at ordering a set of wheels from Black Hawk Japan, and I’m trying to figure out what customs/duties/taxes I should expect if I was to order from them. I can’t seem to find solid answers anywhere on the topic. From what I’ve gathered, the value of the product plays a role, which is probably around $3200 after shipping ($2600 before shipping), but can’t find anything else. Lol

Has anyone had experience ordering wheels from them, and if so, what was the experience like?

TIA
I didn't realize so many were opposed to saving money lol. I know, in a situation where the item is out of stcok they'll notify you and ask if you want to move forward on the order. At the moment BHJ is hard to beat. As long as you aren't planning to seek a warranty claim with an item you purchased. BHJ should probably be your first stop for JDM parts

I would prefer stateside but I haven’t seen anywhere remotely close to $3200 shipped for a set of 19” TE37.
Why not 18's odds are can get quickly. More tires to choose from and weight savings is never a bad thing.

I have no plans to lower the car due to a number of awkward entries/exits that I frequent. At stock ride height, I think 19s look better. TBH, I would prefer 18s for all the reasons you mentioned. If I felt like they would look right, I’d do 18s in a heartbeat.

I inquired on various wheels and availability, always got a response. Nothing but great experience so far, and some fairly quick shipping considering shipping from Japan.

Same here. Always fast response just be mindful they are 14 or 16 hours ahead of the states. Fast shipping ordered my spoon Ridgid collars from them đź‘Ť

did you get hit with a crazy charge from customs for wheels or was it the typical $100-150?

I reached out to black hawk and asked if they happened to know. They said they expected the fees to be less than $200.
