Sounds like you should try a new intercooler. Seems like a waste of track time with all those mods to not try a new intercooler and radiator.

Well, the PWR seems to be a nice radiator and I have proper airflow to benefit from the high density track core.

I could try a different intercooler and maybe it helps a tiny little bit with airflow but I doubt it will make any sensible difference.

Also have you ever driven a 500hp on big ass slicks going full send on a big 2.5 mile track?

There is not much car left at 1 lap to keep going lol.

So maybe its good enough as it is

Be advised that for 99% of use cases the PRL intercooler is fine. Personally I would only recommend it if your car is using the stock turbo. For upgraded turbos, Airtec(Best Value), MDR(currently the best on the market), Wagner(only one that includes a shroud) or be patient and wait for the Mishimoto which they have started development on and it will be released later this year. Greddy, HKS and J’s Racing also have intercooler as available but I can’t see them being better for the money than the Airtec intercooler.
Which one do you think would be better for on track Airtech or MDR? I know the MDR is bar and plate. The Airtec doesn't say what it is on their site.

Airtek is Bar and plate. not many tube and fin ones out there, HKS, J-Racing, I thought PWR was (well it was on FK8)

I'm more of a handling than HP person, so definitely no where near that power, except on a M3 Comp, but that's different.

I wouldn't want that much HP in a FWD, doesn't seem like much fun except when the wheel is turned straight. I enjoy the corner speed much more.

350 is the most I would want in this drivetrain configuration. On my Golf R I could do 10 laps in a row at the same power levels, same with the Elantra N. I really do think a different intercooler would help.

If I do 150mph for 2.5 miles my car will over heat and not be much left?

Well, lol, not on a straight line.

But it´s not just a matter of cooling the engine... The tires overheat, the transmission overheats, the brakes overheat, the bushings will soften, even the shocks... Any car that can keep the same pace for 10 laps is not going as fast as possible.

Of course I would like to have a car that could do 10 laps in a row and I didn´t stop working into this direction but I would never do more then 3 as it´s just pointless for me.

It sounds like you should go fast on the straights and go slower on the corners lmfao 🤣
But really it doesn't sound like this is the right platform for you. Might do better in a gutted EK with k24 that way you can do more than 1 lap and keep a few bucks in your pocket.

Airtec is bar and plate, I chose bar and plate because they tend to be more robust for street usage. It’s also the cheapest intercooler on the market right now. I know some FK8 guys here in Florida and Europe that had great things to say so I went with it.

How often are you tracking your car? When it goes to the track what kind of driving will you be doing? Extended stints? Autocross? If your car is just a street car that sees occasional track then there is no bad choice between the MDR or Airtec. Is your car stock turbo? Is it going to stay stock turbo for your ownership? What’s your budget? The MDR is one of the most expensive on the market, if you can get 90% of the performance at 60% of the price, then that seems like a fair trade to me. If it was my money I’d go Airtec, also because they only offer it in black and the car looks like it no longer has an intercooler unless you’re up close.

Airtec is almost $1k USD which makes it more expensive than the PRL here where we won the war

This is inaccurate, I paid $840 for the Airtec shipped to my door, it arrived in under a week. PRL is $860 to $900 depending on whom you buy it from 🤷🏾‍♂️
