i think it's a progression of disposable income and experience.

I've modded many, many cars and you start to learn where you can get good value vs what you really need to pay for. Most times, you get what you pay for. Learning comes from what part breaks and why, and what are different or better alternatives.

My goal is to drive to the track and back with minimal wrenching while i'm there.

True. Just having owned a few entry level Honda and Toyota sporty cars, I’d say majority of owners are okay with subpar quality as long as they agree with the price. To these people, it’s a mod. They did a mod. That’s it. As if what they put on is actually better than what came from the factory.
I’ve noticed if basic testing is done and it outperforms stock even if it’s for a short window of time most owners are fine with purchasing. The FL5 benefits heavily from the R&D done for the FK8. So it’s hard to justify spending $3200 for an exhaust when your first release was $900(Im looking at you HKS), the cost of production for FL5 parts should essentially be amortized by the FK8. Then again I’m no Economics major so I could be talking out of my ass for all I know.

I agree, but stuff is also just more expensive than in 2017

This is true but the math ain’t mathing on some of the price jumps
I’d be interested in seeing the delta of each part offering (IC, Exhaust, Intake, ect) from a said company (PRL, HKS, Acuity, etc) between FK8 and FL5. Anyone have too much time on their hands? šŸ˜‚

Buy once cry once. Temu or cheap Chinese parts are crazy imo. Mod less with better parts or bite the bullet and shell out some cash.
Tbh most of these aftermarket parts are just rebranded chinese parts šŸ˜…

šŸ˜‚ By the looks of things only PRL would match up. Everybody else not so much

I'm not about to spunk £2k on a PWR intercooler no matter how well it made. Each to their own

Didn't realize it was that expensive, at that price point it should install itself lol. I'll preach Airtec until something comes out at a similar price point and outperforms it.

Did this fix the overheating issues?
along with a PWR radiator, an engine oil cooler, transmission oil cooler, low temp thermostat, lots of ethanol and many fueling mods to run a very rich tune and a catless downpipe, no.

lol.

But It's a lot better then stock and I put down over 500hp.

I can do like 1 lap with full power on a F1 level track and finish around 220F

2 laps at 400-420hp @ 225F

It would probably work well on 70F maybe enev 80F weather. Here is always over 90F

Dang. Two laps... Which turbo and intercooler are you running? How much boost?
