Has anyone gotten their AiM Solo2 DL working on the FL5? I can't get it to read any of the ECU channels. AiM doesn't currently have an ECU protocol for the FL5, only for the FK8. I tried using that config and also their generic OBD2 ECU protocol. I tried plugging in the Solo2 DL using the OBD2 cable. I thought maybe the CAN bus signals going to the OBD2 port were perhaps limited so I tried using their direct wire harness by tapping into the CAN bus wires that feed into the gauge cluster. So far nothing has worked. To test, I'm checking the ECU channels with my laptop connected to the Solo2 and the engine running. As you can see in the screenshot that entire section has no data. I reached out to AiM support but thought I'd try here also.

I asked this question on FB, and even the FK8 owners were having issues with the FK8 profile. I think one got some of the channels working, but not all. They too connected directly to the CANBus and not through OBDII

People used to make it work with the FK2 profile in pre-facelift FK8s (the FK8 profile is quite recent). The facelift has honda sensing and added another F-CAN bus and a CAN gateway. AFAIK no one ever had it working with the facelift FK8. The wiring diagram no longer shows F-CAN is available at the obdii port, instead there is a CAN-Diag (diagnosis?). I always assumed the issue was the CAN gateway.

OTOH, I did make it work with the generic obdii protocol. I could read rpm and tps.

couldn't that be read from OBD2, albeit at a slower refresh rate?

I would want access to more things like steering angle, etc. basically what LogR shows.

Yeah, I only tried from the OBDII on my FK8. I only mentioned it because OP said he tried the generic protocol and couldn't read anything.

I do get my logs from logR, though. It's good enough for most analyses. I can read gear position, brake pressure, steering angle, clutch pedal position etc.

on the FL5 we can't download the data, is that an option on the FK8?

Yes, we can export logs from LogR to our phones. I suppose you could do something similar with the FL5 LogR uploading logs to "my server". Not sure how to set that up though.

How did you make it work with the generic obdii protocol?
