Almost negligibly. A 235/35R18 with a wheel that's ET45 (and most 18"s are 45mm or even less) will impact scrub radius a lot more, and make handling worse in general. Is the scrub radius unaffected by a thicker sidewall and overall larger tire diameter?
I'm leaning towards eventually getting a thicker tire (265/35 sound pretty good) but very hesitant to disturb the original OEM suspension performance and characteristics.
I changed to 265 35 19 (on stock wheels) Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus after blowing 2 of the OEM tires. The potholes in the DMV area are killer. Looks the same to me but definitely a different when hitting bumps. More tire so more cushion. OEM tires handle better.Anyone have experience with this? How does it look?
With the speedometer being off, would the same apply for the odometer? It’s a 4% chance in diameter. You’d by throwing the speedo off by a bit so be mindful
