Like the mature look, but the price point is likely to compete with several German competitors that yield better performances yet have the same practicality. It’s a segment that Lexus / Infiniti and American auto makers are no longer competing. I admire Honda’s aspiration to revive the brand, but the time has changed. Hopefully it will sell well, but I have a dim outlook if msrp is over 50k and otd is 60k.

Personally I think it looks like crap, but one advantage it does have over all of its luxury German competitors is that it is 6MT.

Looks like the Type R has options for Engine Sound and Rev Match.

Reached out to a couple of dealerships and already found one with $5k markup.
My dealer is MSRP and I'm #1 on list...

Fenders remind me alot of an RX-8

I would have preferred a sportier looking seat, but it's what I expected. Looks very much like what I have in my RDX

I’d need to see it in person before really judging the styling. Pics of the FL5 are great, but seeing it in person and walking up to for the first time was “an experience” that pics just don’t capture at all. The lines and proportions and stance all just come together differently (in a good way) when seeing it in real life vs pics.

Someone already said it, but name one other German sedan/hatch available with a manual. That's a big differentiator right there.

Let’s play guess the price.
I’ll start with $47950.
I'm thinking just under $50k. I think Honda probably sees what people are paying for CTRs and will want to get in on that. Especially as this seems to be coming in as a 2024 model.

Let’s play guess the price.
I’ll start with $47950.
basetype sdelta ($)delta (%)
tlx3985055550157000.3939774153
mdx4955067850183000.3693239152
integra3130043246119460.3816506653 (calculated avg)

based off current base to type-s pricing of other models, it should be around $43,246.

Here's the same analysis using the upgraded type-s models:
basetype sdelta ($)delta (%)
tlx3985056350165000.4140526976
mdx4955072050225000.454086781
integra3130044886135860.4340697393

$44,886 is right around what the current Civic Type-R is priced at, but with the upgrades the Integra Type S is offering, I'm going to estimate $48,000

I wonder if it's possible to put the Integra Type S exhaust on the CTR for the "pops and bangs". It's a little dumb that the CTR didn't get exhaust upgrade the Integra has.

Throttle overrun is a function of ECU tuning. The hardware will have no effect on the audible "pops", "bangs", and "crackles" you hear when the driver lets off the throttle.

Ah, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info! Maybe Hondata or some tuner can replicate/improve it for the CTR.
