^ just a gut feel but some info in latest from Japan is production may be ramping. Nothing concrete but the fact that dealer cars complete and orders being taken in Japan is a good sign. I agree though 6 that soon at a low volume dealer would be low probability even on a normal cycle.

Ideally, I'm 100% wrong so everyone gets a car.

But I'm a realist, I don't believe even myself being closer to the top (agreeing to dealer added packages) of my lines at the largest dealers in the nation have a garunteed chance for 2023.

6'th in line @ a Windsor dealership? All the largest Honda downtown GTA dealerships (which are the largest dealerships in the nation) GM's are quoting me MAX 6-8 expected allocations over the 3 years LOL. They are expecting 2-3 units each year.

Unless your dealership expects 60%+ to dropoff I can almost guarantee you (based on the CURRENT information available) beings 6'th in line @ a low volume/population region, "before summer next year" has a sub 5% chance of actually happening. They are keeping you on the hook IMO. Otherwise, Honda will need to drastically change their production plans.

Canada is only quoted to get 550 units over 3 years. Having 6 cars allocated in 2022 + 2023 (before summer) in a small region is mathematically impossible.
I'm in line at probably the biggest GTA Dealership, Windsor dealer told me that they wont even get the type r 😂 I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a summer delivery

If you don't mind me asking who are you working with?

I've been in touch with the following GTA dealers:
1) Downtown Honda
2) Toronto Honda
3) Sisley Honda
4) Formula Honda
5) Midtown Honda
6) Markham Honda

Pretty much, all saying the same thing, max 2-3 units a year.

I'm working with Midtown, Toronto, and Formula (best chance for me specifically, since they are profit-hunting dealerships) + Bolton (smaller dealership, long shot).

I reached out to Whitby Honda, they never got back to me. In line at Halton Honda in Burlington (which has been the #1 dealer in Ontario for two years running according to a ranking website, but I'd take that with a big grain of salt). I could only put down a deposit at one dealership, so I decided to go with them. But looks like you've the best chance of anyone in Ontario

I guarantee you, that the dealerships in Markham, Scarborough, and downtown Toronto Core dealerships are the highest rated, volume, and tier 1 dealers.

Sisley, Toronto, and Markham are for sure in the top 10 in Canada. Vancouver and Montreal core location dealerships would round out the top 10.

Probably. But a lot of those same dealerships are 20+ deposits deep and they're not getting more units than the top 5 dealerships in Ontario.

Correct, the top dealerships will be selling for profits (packages added on, targeting $5K - $10K CAD ontop). Top dealerships are expecting 2-3 annually, smaller ones, MAYBE 1 - 2, many others expecting 0.

Finding a top dealership selling ONLY @ MSRP, willing to take a deposit, that hasn't already "sold" to friends and family has been impossible for me. This is why I opted to work with the profit-hunting dealers.

I'd expect the mid to large size dealerships to get more than just 2-3, probably double that. There's a lot of dealerships that will not be getting them and have alluded to that. I've called smaller dealerships in the GTA and at least in the surrounding areas, they're not expecting to get any.

haha, I actually mathed this out.

Assumptions are as follows (this ONLY pertains to CANADA!!!!!):
1) 237 Canadian Honda dealerships currently
2) Assume 60% wont get FL5 allocations ( I think this is already an aggressive assumption, more than 40% will get at least 1 IMO).
3) Assume 550 3 year production life cycle (to be verified, based on rumors and leaks)
4) Flat/straight line annual allocation to dealerships

Max high/mid dealer allocation annual: 550 / (237 * (1 - 0.6)) / 3 = 2

Based on variables assumed MAX each dealer at the top or mid-level can get annually is 2-3.

Feel free to use a different set of variables. But 6 annual allocations is impossible based on the math IMO.

I would LOVEEEEEE to be wrong, but again, being objective here tell me where I am wrong based on the information available for analysis?
