Interesting. I've heard mixed things with 255 on 9.5 wide but was curious if would work. Is it stretching a little? I will be getting mine soon and was looking at the 35 series just to be a little safer because I love the stock wheels. Would 255/35/19 be good for the stock wheels you think? It's kind of hard to get a definitive answer. Some sites say don't do it because a stretch, others say 255 is fine.

Is your speed off slightly?

Thanks! 255/35-19. Or else 265 would probably rub

Why not go with 265x35 if you're staying on stock rims?
255x35 on a 9.5 wide wheel will be absolutely fine as far as stretch, I wouldn't even consider it a stretch TBH. You have more sidewall than the stock 265x30. However if its more comfort you're looking for then thats an entirely different rabbit hole.
Just for reference I had 225x45 on a 17x9 inch wheel to try and squeeze (unsuccessfully) a +20 offset under stock guards (not a civic). I had the guards pumped and I drove them to the end off their life without issue. I then fitted 245x40 on the same car, same tyres and the car was noticeably more comfortable due to the added volume. Of course this is a more extreme example than what you are comparing but its food for thought.

Thanks for watching!
"Here in the backseat, we've got red seatbelts, soft black seats, built in cup holders...and...we still got red seatbelts." LOL, your son is awesome. So is your car. Very jealous. Enjoy.

How do you like those Cont. All seasons? With still being 30 series, are they ok in cold weather and bumps/road noise?
I like them. Use them on some other cars I have as well. 45K on the first set. I'm over 35K on this set. Cold weather, good, but I'm in Texas so not really that cold. Didn;t ddrive it on snow/ice. Good in the rain. Only complaint is they get noisy as they get older. Seems the way the FK8 is set up, they wear irregularly on the inside of the tires, not matter which side, no matter how you rotate. I think the irregular wear pattern is the source of the noise. I like not having to buy tires every 10,000 miles though.

We usually just mainly have cold/wet weather in winter here in TN. Occasionally we will get some snow but I don't drive in the snow and just work from home, for the most part. Not having to change every 10k is definitely nice as well. I may pick some up, thanks.

I thought of that but he mentioned that 265/35 would rub I believe. I've heard that elsewhere too. I'm surprised his offset isn't causing issues honestly.

yeah no issues at all with 255/35 due to the stretch of the tire clearing the fender. 265/35 would rub On the+36 offset. But I think it should work on +45.

I may try the 265/35 then with stock wheels but it would throw my speedo off. I wouldn't mind going to 18's with the 265/35/18 on a +45 wheel but I love the stock wheels this time lol

This is at 265/35/19 +60 offset of stock

this is aggressive! I love it, but I like the looks of the factory forged wheels, so I'm thinking spacer, maybe? just so happen to save my set from my FK8....maybe just the back first? the back seems to be a bit more recessed in... :hmm:

makes that hip looks so much wider with the 36 offset...
so if I add 20mm spacer in the back, I'll eccentrically turn the back into ET40mm offset
The back end is now wider by 40mm...so maybe I do all four wheels.
I'll give this a go tomorrow and post some pics...

I might be misunderstanding what you've said but if you add a 20mm spacer to a +36 offset wheel you are effectivley making it a +16 offset. Your offset is the centre line of the wheel barrel relative to the mounting surface of the wheel.

I was referring to adding a spacer to the OEM wheels which are +60 to make a +40
