Today I completed my first mod on my 2023 SI, which was installing a Mishimoto catch can kit, which is listed for 2016-2021 models.

Mishimoto part number MMBCC-CIV-16PBE was used for this install. It can currently be found on Amazon for $220.99.

Install took a little under a half hour of work, and this included modification of one hose, which was needed for it to fit.

Mounting was straight forward, and bolted up to the firewall/cowl without modification. The catch can has plenty of room away from the intake manifold, and can be emptied without interference.

The hose from the valve cover to the catch can fit perfectly, however the can to the intake manifold was a bit short. I opted to use a plastic 90 degree adapter to keep a clean look, however a straight hose would work if you are not as picky as I was. Just make sure you use an emissions hose, with can withstand oil. Use of heater hose will eventually break down due to oil contact.

I am always a firm believer in removing any oil consumption, especially in a turbo vehicle. Keeping the intake manifold clean from any possible blow-by is important to me. Glad to have installed this on the car while its brand new (currently only 80 miles on it).

Hi @Boostin845 - Creative work getting the prior 10th Gen Civic catch can to fit! For those not as adventurous as Kris, we do plan on bringing to market a direct-fit product for 11th Gen Civics.

- John
Very excited for a direct fit catch can for the Si! I have used your products before on prior projects and i am very impressed with quality. Would love to get my hands on one asap!

Wish I could as you all aren't to terribly far but my weekends are pretty busy with life/kids/etc.
Thanks for the offer though! I will be purchasing a direct fit option when it becomes available.

Hey @OGGsr - No worries, figured I would offer. I totally know the feeling (2yo and 4yo boys are WILD).

@Boostin845 @Mishimoto I did this same retrofit. Just want to point out is be careful of that soft fuel link resting on the can. Mine melted a small flat spot into it. I ended up trapping the line in a loop on the fuel rail connector wire. May end replacing the line but I don't think it will give me issues with how small it is but if I would of left it it would of not been pretty.

Now that I've had a chance to spend some quality time wrenching in the engine bay installing an intake, questions for you guys that have installed a catch can and/or our vendors that plan to offer them for the 11th gen platform.

Looking at the front of the valve cover, noticed this hose also appears to be a PCV line also but it connects to the intake tubing directly in front of the turbo.
Given this is a larger ID hose and that it would see almost constant vacuum being on the intake side versus the manifold side, would it not make more sense to collect the oil/liquid coming off this as well? Interesting that Honda decided to put permanent hose clamps on this front PCV line, assuming since it's related to emissions. Is there a reasonable way to make a catch can that would collect from both valve cover locations besides installing two? Haven't dug further, but there must be a check valve on the rear PCV to prevent it from pressurizing the crankcase/valve cover, which would mean both in/out lines could be connected together and fed into the respective ports on the catch can, some extra hose and tee fittings are all that would be needed. I've been collecting off the rear PCV line for about 1K miles so far and haven't seen a drop so far in the catch can, which is what got me started down this path. Interested to hear everyone's thoughts, I'd personally want to catch all of the filth possible so it doesn't require walnut blasting the valves later on down the road...

How is this been working out? How much oil collection?

It's funny you ask - I just did my first oil change last week. I dumped it before I was able to take a pic. I was happy to see it was working - with about a 1/4" of oil within, so not much. Anything caught and not pumped back into the intake manifold is a win to me!
