TSCC will send out an instructor questionnaire prior to the event, but since we are holding a mini-event within an event, then it would probably be a good idea. I've been talking to my buddy Chris, and had mentioned that you were going to be there, and would likely be instructing one of the Type R's in novice, but that there were two students, and I wanted to see if he knew any instructors that he could recommend for the other green driver. He tossed out a few names, but neither one of them really have a FWD focus.

My prior student from the TSCC event in March emailed TSCC requesting me to instruct him again, and they approved his request. He is currently running in yellow group. TSCC has a one student per instructor rule, so I'm locked down.

Must be nice lol joking . Instructor sacrifices and lot of their time on track for teaching they deserve it.
It's definitely a full time job for an entire weekend! We aren't coming out of pocket for the admission fee, but that's technically our "pay" to make sure that we are giving our undivided attention and care to our student.

I require that my students paddock with me for a few simple reasons. They often come up with some pretty important questions off the track when they are no longer under stress, and it's a perfect setting for them to learn. I want to be able to look over their car and tires with them so that we can catch any problems before they become a bigger problem, but this also teaches them to do it on their own when they go solo. I also need/want them to be close so that when it's time for their session we are ready to go right away. I don't want them to have to drive around to find me.

not all care that much. glad you put in the effort
I wish they were all required to care that much! I was a victim of instructors that were just there for the "free track weekend", and it's a recipe for disaster. TSCC also takes instruction so seriously that they "fired" an instructor in March who was overheard saying that he/she was just in it for the free track time.

I stick pretty tight with a very specific group of instructors that are all of the same mindset as me, and our little group are constantly talking to each other to develop ways to better instruct our students. For example: I was speaking with Chris and Hope recently, and we are getting some dry erase posters of the different segments of the track so that we have visual aids off of the track to review with our students.

Alright, sent them an email and they asked me to give them the name of who I'd like as my student. So if anybody going to this event that is registered for Novice group would like me as their instructor shoot me a message with your full name and we'll make it happen.

Yes looking fwd to my first track day. All and any help much appreciated,
You definitely picked the right track day to attend for your very first event! 12 identical cars, and a lot of experience across the group!

Here is my top 10 tracks I've been to (I've been to a lot more 🏎)

I feel that VIR is my favorite for many reasons, it has a great mix of turns and elevation. But 7-8-9 may be the best pavement in the entire world. Yeah I said it.

1 VIR
2 Road America
3 Charlotte Motorspeedway (Roval)
4 Ozarks
5 NCM (National Corvette Museum)
6 Barber Motorsport Park
7 Palmer
8 Mid-Ohio
9 Autobahn
10 Road Atlanta

Yes i agreed I learn good thinks with my last instructor on dominion raceway it's a lot of stress on students looking and finding the limits of the cars at least instructors also helps with inputs and flags and points by .
