There will be a MY26 FL5, MY27 I have to confirm but I don't see why there wouldn't be. 2027 would be the final model year since the 12th Gen civic comes out after that. Contrary to what some might see or believe online, FL5s are selling well even with dealer markups.
That's been my understanding, too. Civic just had a minor facelift, so theoretically '26 should see some changes.

No changes/updates for the FL5 until they release the LE model. If they even decide to move forward on doing it.

If that's the case I'll start searching — but finding a CBP is a pita. Thanks, man.

The odds aren't in your favor for CBP. They're actually reducing production on that color because demand for it has been lower than Red. Rick Case got only 3 Rally Red FL5s in 2024 and 1 Crystal Black Pearl. In 2023, they got 3 Crystal Black Pearl and 0 Rally Red.

They were rare even in 2023 when I picked mine up, only one in Illinois. I'm sure I could find one around the Chicago/Wisconsin area eventually — question is ADM due to scarcity. Ironically, when I purchased mine it wasn't that desirable and ADM reflected lower values compared to CW.

Yeah oddly enough, ADMs are now more prevalent on CB and RR. Took me forever to find an RR without an ADM and even that was by pure luck.

So the 2026 will be identical to the 2025 then? I was recently at my large-ish dealer and my SA said that their "rep" had just informed them that there wouldn't be a 2026 FL5. Thought it was fishy, but he was convincing.

What made his story convincing?

there was this post from December:

Take this with a grain of salt, but was chatting with my SA, who previously nailed the FK8 LE release and the FL5 release timeline. He indicated that 2025 will indeed be the last year for the FL5.

What’s more interesting though is that he said the DE5 will continue for at least another year or two.

Again, all speculation until we get official word, but interesting nonetheless.
Sounds about right. Japanese forums have been rumoring that Japan factory will cease production in Spring 2026 in Japan. Thus the introduction of "racing black edition" to quickly finish any backorders that have been piling up since Jan 2023. They mentioned the "racing black edition" is only available for existing backorders to fast track the queue. Apparently the black interior is from a different supplier. We will see, but I do believe your SA.

I could write the same style of post saying the opposite and it would mean just as little.

In the absence of data I think it unlikely that Honda would abruptly stop making the Type R — especially since they just refreshed the normal Civic. What business goal does it serve to leave money on the table by arbitrarily ending Type R production?

Not quite as simple as just “leaving money on the table”. There are stringent CARB regulations that go into effect this year in JP and the CTR is the only vehicle in Hondas lineup that would violate those regulations.

Not to mention there were release notes indicating a three year run upon inception of the vehicle. I believe 500 units were to be allocated to CA and on last count they had already received 487.

Of course things can change but I wouldn’t call any of this arbitrary.

CARB regulations that go into effect in Japan? Do you know what the first letter of CARB stands for?

Feel free to post sources for either of these claims, but this is the kind of stuff I see repeated over and over with zero source behind it beyond, "I heard someone say something."

I'm more inclined to believe that 1) Regulations might force Honda to cut short 2) They're not giving notice to prevent mass ADM 3) Thus, won't hear anything conclusive til the end.

People tend to reference initial CA numbers that are coming to fruition — but a similar case existed for NA, yet Honda began to produce more to meet demand; so it's hard to say we've had a linear timeline, trajectory.

There’s a myriad of links out there. That said, I’m sure there are others here that are more qualified to speak on the subject. My point was simply that the possibility of there not being a 2026 model isn’t just being formed out of thin air as implied.

Im skeptical myself and will believe it when I hear it (officially) from Honda.
