Just want to give my feedback on Honda East Cincinnati. I just picked up my car this past weekend and a couple of points to cover:

1. MSRP and nothing else.
2. No pressure for warranties, etc. They did a very, very soft sell for things like tire protection, etc. But it was basically just an ask once, no? Ok, moving on.
3. They went out of their way to find a red one for me.
4. The entire process was painless, got pre-approved through them (the only stipulation for getting the msrp) and their rate was the same as my credit unions, and I was in and out in about 1h.
5. Gary was great, stayed in contact the whole time, texted me updates, seemed as excited as I was to pick it up.

100% great experience with them. I'd suggest them to anyone willing to travel for MSRP and a great dealership. Also they have been doing MSRP since they got their first FL5, love to see it.

All west coast is a trash heap, you will need to travel to the midwest to get msrp.

Got mine from Fisher Honda in MI.....1,6k for towing and the whole experience was amazing, probably the best car buying experience I ever had, no CA dealer BS and straight to the point.

MSRP and forged wheels as an option (something I wanted to have anyways).

WTB: Crystal Black Pearl Type R at MSRP and one that can sell out of state. I found a few at MSRP in the Midwest but they won’t sell to CA. CA dealers still at 5-10k ADM. Anyone got any leads?

Rick Case Honda has a Crystal black Pearl FL5 that they'll let go for $1K over MSRP (includes a 10yr /120k miles powertrain warranty). Rick Case Honda is also the only dealer in South Florida that will do warranty work on modified cars(less relevant for Out-of-state buyers).

It's been on the lot for a while so I'm sure they won't lose your business over $1k.

DM me if you need direct contact with someone that won't play any games.

You have two type Rs?
correct, he sold me my 21 fk8 and 25 fl5. I am pretty sure there are several of us here who have bought multiple R's from Dave / Apple Tree

Great resource! The threat of tariffs just pushed up my schedule for buying a CTR. There were literally ZERO no-add-on white CTRs within 200 miles of the SF Bay Area, and none in NorCal. The cars in SoCal were posting big ADMs.

Staring Friday afternoon, my strategy was to search in the vicinity of recent MSRP sales using Honda's build tool. Using the recent sales' zip codes as the center of searches, I found about 35 dealers with cars in my desired color (white). I stuck to email-only to avoid getting bogged down with calls/texts. By mid-Saturday I had a list of four dealers offering no-add-on, white CTRs at MSRP.

I went with Kunes Honda (Quincy, IL 62301).

Here are the other dealers I found with no-add-on white CTRs at MSRP:

Just purchased a championship white Honda civic type R for below MSRP at Saratoga Honda in NY, paid in full and even got a free tire and service package thrown in. Before taxes the offer was $46,400, the championship white adds like $455 on top of MSRP so I'm overall pretty happy with what I got.

Paid around 48k OTD. Original offer from the dealership was around 51k OTD, then I played some catch between two dealerships. Got it lowered to $50,300, even put my deposit down. Get called at 7pm at night telling me the dealer I bought from could do better and got the 48k OTD.

How did you locate your dealerships? Did you negotiate in person, or remotely?

I've used the dealer I purchased from before (to get my previous sport hatchback), so there was already a connection there. That said, all of the negotiation was done over the phone and I was completely transparent with them the entire time. I went to the competing dealer and put down the deposit, so I think it had a lot to do with that.

Congrats on all of the recent purchases! I suspect the looming tariffs are stressing buyers and dealers which means the deals are getting done quickly.

If everything goes through we're in uncharted territory. This could make the market very interesting for the next few months.

Bought a BBP 2025 FL5 today for exactly MSRP.
I saw it a few times at a local dealer, but assumed that the reason it was hanging around was that they were asking too much.
Turns out they said MSRP as soon as I asked.
Should get it on Wednesday.
