looking into it some more and it seems the gearing is not all that great for the newer SI 😥

Yeah, gearing blows on the 20+ and the 22+ is heavier and longer than the 10th gen.

I have 255/35/18’s on my car and 2nd ends about 54mph. Debating trying some 255/40/18’s next go since they’re a bit taller and hit 57 in 2nd. That is about what a 10th gen car does with 255/40/17

2022 Si, 1990 CRX HF with a B18 (hubby has 3 CRXs including an SiR)
Ran with the local car club at an SCCA event yesterday.
This was my 2nd autox in my '22 Si, having raced my previous miatas, mustangs, and EP3 over the past 10 years.
I recently put Firestone Firehawk Indy 555 tires (stock size) on because I finally couldn't take the noise of the stock all seasons, and having raced the AS tires 3 years ago made me realize I did NOT want to do that again (car is my daily, so I needed a mixture of sticky and decent treadlife).
I also installed a Siri Moto phase 2 cf front strut bar the day before the event. I overtightened it and it was making horrible creaking noises at idle/slow speed, so had to retorque to recommended specs. (Whoops.) The car handled better than stock, more predictable and "tight." My husband had to cut the plastic engine cover to fit around the strut bar, as it wouldn't fit on top of the bar and couldn't be manipulated otherwise.
I am very pleased with my Si, for the suspension being pretty much stock, it goes where you point it, and feels light for a sedan. Basically, I just love how it feels and have a blast driving it.
In the past I've used GoPros or phones to record, but my Z Fold 5 is a bit too cumbersome so I spent $100 on a dash cam on Amazon which did a pretty good job of capturing in 4K, recording speed, and transferring video files to my phone.
Here's a video from my best run. Only other car in GS class was a '17 Si, but with timing issues I don't know the outcome. I know I had the faster time my first lap but that hairpin turn got me an Off Course so it didn't count. The course layout and hairpin turn was difficult for 80% of people who went off course and missed it at least the first run. (Edit: the gps map doesn't show the slaloms, but the video obviously does.) ;)

For the 2020 and 11th gen, 18x8"+45 with a 255/40/18 seemed to be the goldilocks set up for GS.

FYI Your car is no longer legal for GS with the Strut brace, cooling plate, and PRL Intake tube. It's silly since these basically provide negligible performance improvements, but alas not legal. It would now be in STH or XA.

Correction: STH is now GST! All Street Touring classes are now semi-alphabetical, just like the other categories.
Forgot about that change, I should know because I bought STU Letters the week before they proposed the change
